Yes. It does and even more. It flares out similar to the attack mode

is the sword that he carries to heavy for him? does it fall down or makes the gundam's wrist twist?

The wrist on mine is pretty sturdy and the sword was lightweight too. He can hold on to it with both hands as well. The black holsters on the back like to fall off though.
