Best tree Book I Got so far still looking for a more detailed one
Don't get me wrong I love this book one Best Books I have boughten on Identifying Trees but one thing I do wish when Identifying A tree in this book i wish it would tell you if a particular tree is a male or female because if my memory serves me correctly some trees not many there are a difference between a male and a female. Also I also wish that with this book when it shows what the branch and leaves look like it would show you the seed it takes to plant the tree from scratch the seed of the tree like a Maple is those Helicopter seeds they call them. like show people what there seed looks like. I also wish it would give people more of a Variety of Spruce, Pine & Fir Tree Detail & Pictures. They have Norway Spruce, Red Spruce, But wish they would list more types of spruce, pine & fir trees Wish it would show like more Flowering trees very little flowering trees like I was looking for Lilacs, & different flowering trees. But over all best book i have found to date still looking Color Pictures. Glossy Paper or whatever so good printed paper

Great book, many photos and illustrations.
Got the Kindle edition, thinking it would be best to have in the outdoors where all the trees are... I'd looked through the book in a book store, and just for ease of flipping through physical pages, I'd prefer to have purchased the book. The Kindle version is great on the iPad, though! The author/editor has divided the book into two basic sections: the first describes the leaf structure and a brief description of the tree, along with the page number (in the second section) of an in-depth tree description. I found out that the heretofore unknown tree that's now a sycamore can grow to 150' tall. It's been growing quickly, but that'll be awesome in my back yard!

Very well organized
I love how this book is set up, it starts with basics and goes up from there describing the different types of leaves and bark and characteristics of each type and from there directs you what page to turn to. Super easy to follow.

One of best tree book.
LOT of good picture to help to identifying tree better. It best tree book for eastern of North America so far I see. It show 2 picture of one leaf -- one is photographic and one is drawing. Tree -- it show bark, leaf, nut or fruit or other. It easy for me to identifying the tree. This book I will keep until that book become no good. Great book!

A great book for learning how to identify trees.
A great book for identifying trees, this book does not have every tree that you would see in the woods. I am in NC and this book is good for learning the basic trees, than you can get another book with all the trees. The pictures are great with different views and ages of bark and leaf colors. Good information about the trees.

I Can't See the Trees Because of the Forest.
What can i tell you? If you thumb through the book, you can identify most trees, not only in summer but when the leaves have fallen. And this book is specifically for the Eastern United States. My only wish is that someone copies the medical text, written by a colleague of mine. Its title was. Differential Diagnosis of Common Problems. Why is that relevant? Well, I could have saved a ton of thumbing through the book if it (or some other book) started with what I see - bark, limb structure, and leaves. Then lead me along, narrowing the possibilities until we get a provisional identification. Still a fine book, nicely printed.

Great Info, Great Pictures, Great Book
I am a high school agriculture teacher, and part of my curriculum is forestry. I've used this book several times because there are trees I have a hard time identifying. Most every tree I've ever come across is listed in this book. My students even use it for their tree ID projects in class. I highly recommend this book to anyone looking for a tree ID manual.

An arbirist's go to!
I thought this book for my husband's birthday. Yes, this is something that he actually did want for his birthday! He really made a lot of use out of this book. Very much into primitive skills, he was interested in learning more about trees, and identifying them. This book has a lot of pictures, and great information regarding different trees.
