EtherNet/IP: The Everyman’s Guide to The Most Widely Used Manufacturing Protocol

It is not a book which can be used by an programmer or engineer.
Waste of money and time. It does not contain any example of any messages an engineer can use to understand the protocol. Author wrote whatever he wanted to make some money.

Not specific and too vague
If you stuck with ODVA specifications and look for some clarifications, this book is not helpful because it is too vague. It repeats same broad repetitive passages in many places. In the begin it also states some wrong facts about space exploration.

Good book - great for product developers
It is hard to find good information on Ethernet/IP. This book provides a lot of that information. It is easy to read and informative. It is more aimed at developers than end users, but would be useful for both. I highly recommend it!

A small book about a big subject
This seems to be the only book available on EtherNet/IP, so it has that going for it. Unfortunately the book is a bit short on detail. It's more of an appetizer than a main course. I was hoping for a book that would give me the big picture of EtherNet/IP, which I wasn't getting from the OVDA specification documents, and I didn't really get that.
