Using Effigy to Keep Away Vultures
Good looking and sturdy effigy. Based on advice from many sources, trying out hanging upside down in tree to scare away vultures. Only been up for 1 day, but kept the vultures away from where they had previously been that was scaring horses. I use multiple coats of waterproof spray on it to help it last longer

Very poorly made
We purchased two of these decoys at separate times. They have not stood up to the winds. Our first one has lost a wing and the second's wing is about to detach itself. We were desperate at the time of our purchase because Black Buzzards had killed a new born calf and we were afraid of losing more. I'm hope no one else is "taken" like we were.

Great deterrent for vulture
I was having a vulture problem at the abattoir plant, where I work. I estimate there were around 40-50 vultures roasting on the roof each evening and morning, destroying the rubber room membrane and the flashing around vent pipes and also picking the insulation off our a/c cooling units installed on the roof. I hung the effigy in the area where the vultures congregated in the morning/evening time. The next morning, ALL the vultures were gone and have not returned. I also placed several owl statues and hung shiny deterrent tape along the backside of the facility. Great product and would highly recommend to anyone having issues with vultures.

I had a terrible problem with more then 50 turkey vultures roasting in ...
I had my doubts that the dead vulture Effigy would be effective. So far the "the bird" is performing beyond my expectations. I had a terrible problem with more then 50 turkey vultures roasting in a tall stand of evergreen trees along my driveway whenever the weather would get cold. The site was quite eerie and spooky. My car was used for target practice and encased in droppings every day. I got "the bird" in mid January and treated it with a spray coating of polyurethane. I spread the wings and hung it upside down in the highest tree location I could get it. (about 30 feet up). Within 1-2 the vultures were gone! and have not returned. Well worth the investment.

Great deterent.
We had 75 - 100 vultures roosting on a school daily and picking at the roof. Hung several of these and they left. Only issue is one of the 3 we ordered arrived pretty beat up. We made repairs instead of returning because we were in a hurry to put them to use.

This is fantastic!!!
It's a little pricey, but well worth the money. Dozens of vultures were terrorizing my property on a daily basis, pooping on everything and destroying things. Once I hung the effigy, no more vultures!!! I wish I had ordered this sooner!

WASTE OF MONEY
We bought these to combat vultures that are tearing our roof up, Georgia DNR told us hanging these effigies would scare of the vultures, the product statred falling apart 10 days after we hung them and the vultures have paid them no mind. the quality is terrible what aa waste of almost 700.00

May work in open areas, but probably not in wooded ones. Lasers work better.
We bought two of these for a serious buzzard infestation in our lake house in east Texas. We tried to get them as high as possible, managed about 40 feet with 2” pvc conduit. However, our property is very wooded, and even at 40 feet they were not really visible to the buzzards. So they did not have an effect on our buzzard problem. Also, as others have mentioned, we had to reinforce the legs and wings with screws and wire so they would not fall apart.I will mention what did work. We bought several of those outdoor laser Christmas light shows. The models we got are long range, others report them working 150 feet away. The lasers worked like magic. We shine them up to the tops of the trees where the buzzards were roosting, and no more buzzards! The constantly moving laser light patterns totally mess with their sight. And as an added benefit, we have a beautiful light show every night!
