Works really well for a cheaply priced can opener
For a cheaply priced brand name can opener it performs very wellMaintenance is very easy alsoIt opens cans very well although not as clean as I would like it to be but then again maybe it is user error lolThis can opener is pretty lightweight and the power cord seems to be long enoughOne of the nice features is that it has a power cord storage so if you are like me and leave it plugged in you can shorten the cord to make it look neaterAnother thing about this can opener I like is that it is very easy to use and the speed ease of opening a can makes it well worth the priceYou can just use one finger to operate this can opener and the can will stay in place until you release it from the arm of the openerIt has a very sharp blade and so far it can open cans of all sizesOne thing I would change on this can opener would be adding more weight to the base either by putting some weight in it internally and making an attachable weighted base to use when you are opening the heavier cansOther than that I really can’t complain for the price of this electric can opener

Standard Look, Higher Quality
While this might look like many other can openers do, this actually works much better. It isn't loud. It isn't hard to line the can up in the right place. It cuts the lid off quickly.

Finally one that works
Replaced a can opener that had gradually deteriorated and wouldn't reliably open cans. It would drop the can half way through and was a general pain to use. I had eMailed the company (a German company) trying to buy replacement parts, but got a response that said they do not sell parts for their kitchen products. So in other words the expensive German product is a "throw away". Very frustrating. After looking at the reviews on a dozen can openers, I didn't find a single one with consistent excellent reviews. All had issues about longevity, operation, leaving metal shards in the food, etc.My solution was to buy a modestly-priced unit with a decent brand name and hope for the best. I've had this Cuisinart unit for about a month and it's a huge relief from the old unit I threw out. It grips the can and you actually don't have to stand by with your hands under the can preparing to grab it when it falls out of the opener! It's tall and so cans fit under it easily. It stops when the can is fully cut. What's not to like?So far the only negative I can point to is its thin profile - while tall for tall cans, it is not really rock-solid stable and you have to make sure you don't tip it when you move it around or attach a can. A small price to pay for an opener that does what I bought it to do - open cans.In six months or so, if the opener is still functioning, I will up it to five stars. And even if parts wear, if Cuisinart will sell replacement blades and things, it will still get five stars. So this is an early review, very positive, with upside if it continues to work.UPDATE: Have been using this can opener for several months, now. It continues to work flawlessly and is far superior to the more expensive unit it replaced. I have increased the rating to five stars. It is a delight to use, and after the trials and tribulations of the earlier expensive German unit, this is an amazing product at a very attractive price point.

Does the job, but may not be for everyone
I recently purchased the Cuisinart can opener, so my review is based on only having it for a couple weeks. My prior can opener was a Hamilton Beach. I had it for a few years and was great. Cans would open with ease and the can and lid were not sharp. However, it started to not open some cans with ease. I read sharpening may help with this. Well, I put that off for now and ordered the Cuisinart. This can is taller, which is nice for taller cans. It is not as sturdy as the Hamilton Beach. The latch to push down to engage the can to the opener is a little more difficult than the Hamilton Beach, so if you have issues with strength it may be a little challenging. When the can if opened - the can itself is smooth, however the lid is NOT smooth. The lid is sharp. The Cuisinart can opener does the job.

I love it
This can opened puts all other can openers to shame. It looks so nice if you leave on the counter or have to store in your cabinets. It is not cheaply made at all. I did my research and for the price, this was it. A great price for a great product. It does exactly what they claim it will do, with precise cutting. I can't say enough good things. Plus it looks so good on the counter. And I rarely store any appliance, other than my coffee pot, on the counter. If you are needing a new can opener, I encourage you to buy this one. It is a keeper! Oh, one more thing...I had previously bought the type can opener that magnetically sets on top of the can. It did OK but very soon ran out of batteries. This just made me start looking for a TRUE CAN OPENER. I AM HAPPY I FOUND!

Great buy!
Nice sleek design, doesn't take up much space. Works incredibly well! It stops automatically when done, and it holds on to the can with an incredibly strong magnet. LOVE IT!
