Can these be shortened? What is the recommended process to shorten them?

I don’t think so. They have 4 foot ropes and I believe 3.5 maybe those will work?

Great kitchen barrier for party

We used these ropes to block two of the three entrances to our kitchen during a holiday dinner party. Tired of guests in the kitchen getting in our servers’ way, we hung each using command hooks to block two entrances into the kitchen. They worked like a charm!
