Functions PERFECTLY. Great DIY. No Problems-Used as Directed
The media could not be loaded. Our dryer vents thru metal tubes; behind the dryer; a right angle upward, inside a 10’ tall interior wall-to the attic immediately above; has a second slight angle, and then an upwardly tilted tube to a vent on the roof. Our laundry room gets overly humid/warm sometimes; so I decided to do a vent clean-out, (at least 16 yrs) of potential lint. #1 RULE: Use ONLY the CLOCKWISE /righty-tighty direction w/the drill; even when backing the brush out. #2 SUGGESTION! : Watch the TUTORIAL on U tube -AmplifyDIY “How to clean your dryer vent duct.” His detailed instruction & especially the EXTRA HINTS gave me CONFIDENCE to buy this kit from Amazon. Bristles were the right size and density needed to remove lint and still allow it to fall back down the long tube. They held their shape, were stiff enough to get the job done; but also just soft enough to sweep with some flex/not scraping/damaging the metal tubing interior surface. Flexible, but sturdy extension rods, durable joints/construction.NOTE: I didn’t use a shop vac as in the video; but compensated w/a little clear tent (pics) to minimize dust. I pre-cut my electrical tape into 1.75” lengths; Wiped the connections & my fingers w/alcohol as I went, to remove dust & oils. Tape stayed on and removed easily afterward. I used 14 rods of the 21 rods. Advanced the brush/retreated/advanced again slowly for each rod length. As I got to where I think was the bend at a bend, I could hear the flexible rods “bopping around” a bit; but there was no reduction in operation. As I was reaching the pipe’s slight bend in the attic, and then again near the roof vent; is where noticeably larger amounts of lint dislodged/piled up at the entry point. Used my fingers to gently rake the lint onto the floor. Not knowing when I might reach THE END was a little bit concerning; since our roof is steep and I can’t access that vent if there’s a problem. I went very slow after that second “lint dump” began, and it was obvious when I reached the end since the brush had previously advanced so easily. Linger in that spot for a few extra seconds to break up any posible clumps. Very slowly retreated in advancing/retreating movements to dislodge any remaining bits. Proceed in reverse-order instructions to finish. >TOTAL SUCCESS! Clockwise-only motion (and tape, for peace of mind) kept the connections completely tight! Lots of lint removed. Simple enough, just patience with the a stop/extend/start the drill. Kind of messy; but I needed to sweep behind the dryer anyway! Saved a lot of money. See pics & video. We are only a two person family with no pets for “lint comparison...” and I clean my lint screen before EVERY load.

Works as advertised. Great product!
This does the job! Completely cleared out my dryer vent. My vent runs upward vents out the roof. I used a camera scope to view the results. 100% clean. Easy to use. Saves money on a technician charging 3 times the cost of this item. Worked great on the insides of my dryer as well.

It's good - box is annoying making storing it in the future near impossible
-1 star cuz the packaging is awful, you will need to destroy the box if you want to open it which makes storing it annoying. Otherwise, works well - little smaller gauge than others on the market but overall build is solid and the brush size is appropriate for cleaning most ducts.

Have a dryer? You should have this.
Very pleased with the performance. I installed the 4" hard pipe myself 8 years ago, with 1 90 and two 45 degree bends. I needed 22 feet, and using a drill, the brush and rod negotiated the canal with ease. Once got to the vent, I simply pulled it back through, and got very little resistance. I took an electric leaf blower and stuck it in the pipe, wrapped a rag to seal it, and ran it for a minute. There outside, lay a huge pile of lint! Shop vac took care of that. This goes on my calendar for yearly maintenance from now on. I additionally removed the dryer back, pulled and cleaned the duct and vacuumed all around. The rods that came with it seem to be very sturdy, with clean threading, and require only a little effort with 2 pliers to break and separate. The money I saved, and the experience I got, was was worth far more than the 20 bucks this cost.

Awesome duct cleaner
Worth every penny! If you have never cleaned your dry vent buy this tool. Cut cost on power bill, cut dry time, and cut fire hazards. Took 30 min to clean duct work.

Amazing results!
We never thought there was much lint collecting inside our 20' dryer duct. Our dryer seem to keep taking longer and longer to dry clothes which we attributed to it being 8 years old. I even blew out the duct using a gas powered blower which removed some lint (I thought it removed it all).A year later the washer went out (it was a stackable unit) and we bought a new washer/dryer stack. We thought we bought a lemon because there was a ton of condensation coming out of the dryer vent and it was taking forever to dryer.Enter the Dryer Vent Cleaner Kit. I bought this 8 months ago thinking at some point I would clean out the little bit of lint that was in the ducting. The day the new dryer was installed I removed the dryer to access the vent. I inserted the dryer cleaner which pulled out a few large clumps of lint, but then stopped 1/3 of the way through (leaving one of the 1' connectors twisted - much like some have posted pictures of). I then went to the other end of the line and did the same thing removing more lint, but stopping 1/3 of the way through. I thought "Great, I cleared the vent!"That evening dryer loads were still taking forever to dry (never really drying) and condensation around the vent was off the charts. At this point I realized that I need to run this cleaner through the entire line. Instead of push it through which creates the twisting of the segments and would never go all the way through for me, I decide to pull it through. To do this I had a pull a string through the vent then tape the end of the segments that connects to the drill and pull that through until the brush it at the beginning of the vent. I watched a video by an electrician who showed how to suck a fishing line with a small plastic bag (like a parachute) through the duct. As I used the shop vac on on end the bag+fishing line was not coming out, but I was getting a bunch of lint coming out. I went to the other end to try the same thing with the shop vac and got a ton of lint, but not the fishing line+bag until suddenly enough lint cleared that the bag and line came through.I used that to pull a strong string through and then attached the end of the string to the drill end of the vent cleaner rod. Once the end was sticking out, I attached the drill, turn it on, and slow started pulling. The result was miraculous. No bent segments, the pulled through seamlessly, and in the process brought out another ton more of lint (a lot of it went due to the ongoing condensation caused by restricted flow). The trick is to set the cleaner so that you can PULL it through no push it through the duct.New dryer is drying flawlessly. I plan to run the cleaner through the duct once every 6 months and use my shop vac once a month to gauge how frequently I need to clean the vent.Amazing results!
