Not 60Hz, Stopped Working within a Week
Despite claiming this adapter provides 60Hz, it is definitely not the case. Latency must be close to 50ms as well, depending on how much is happening on the screen. Some people can tolerate this, and others will literally get nauseous. Even just editing documents is annoying because simply switching windows or scrolling through a document creates very obvious lag. I would bring this complaint to the company, but I do not think this hardware could ever reliably hit 60Hz @1080p at this price.I also experienced the double cursor bug, but it resolved after a reboot.Driver included with product has the sketchiest name ever. I cannot think of anything more suspicious than "XXX USB Display". Was probably just something lost in translation, but still good to be cautious when installing drivers(!) by no-name developers probably based in another jurisdiction on a machine that holds all your data. I installed it anyway, but would not be too shocked if it turns out to be malicious, or even merely vulnerable to malicious activities. At least the adapter (somewhat) worked (for a short time). It was inconsistent: sometimes automatically detecting the monitor attached, other times not starting on login, random screen shutdowns. Was a pain because I would need to use some other display to actually start the USB display driver nearly every time I booted my computer. The adapter stopped working within a week. Undetectable by the system or its own driver. Cannot read the on-board storage to reinstall the driver. Still gets hot though. The adapter never moved after installation, was plugged and unplugged no more than a dozen times; swapped USB ports; tried USB 2; computer is fully functional and able to read other devices on the same ports.I was trying to save some money, but I think I will just invest a whole $50 in a product made by a more notable and accountable company. I learned not to cheap out if you are going to use this device on your primary screen. Just not worth the savings for a product you will use so frequently.

Works pretty well on USB 3.0, a little laggy on 2.0
I would say the first thing out of the box is this can be used with USB 3.0 and 2.0 but I would recommend using it with 3.0. I have tried it on 2.0 and it has a lag time in between movement and what is shown in the screen. I guess there is not enough speed for a usb 2.0 to handle. This works great for those surface pros that only have one USB ports. I can actually connect these to two different screens along with my display port. The cable is short and really only meant for laptops in my opinion since many laptops nowadays only have USB 3.0 or mini displayport or type c. That being said, this works great for if you are trying to hook this up to to a new monitor or a new TV. It also allowed me to have an extra display for my gaming laptop that only has 1 HDMI port that I can use to plug this laptop into. The cable itself is pretty sturdy so you do not have to worry too much about the neck getting frayed. You can easily bend and store if needed. The HDMI female port does a good job staying connected so it does not be easily disconnected. I would say it works great up to 1080P and i do not see any heating issues from what I can tell. Be aware this still relays on the ability of the onboard graphics so if your graphic card is not very strong you will not get a very good quality. The device does not come with any HDMI cable. It does not require any external power and is pretty light weight so you can put it say in your laptop bag. Another thing I would say about this product is that the picture quality is good and there is no lag when you use USB 3.0/3.1. No drivers are need from what I can tell to get this to work as it will auto install via windows 7,8,10. Overall I think this is a great product to have if you are looking for a decent expansion for your laptop or even desktop. It does not transmit sound so be aware of that and it does take up a USB port so for my surface pro I had to utilize a bluetooth keyboard and mouse.

Decent device if you need a second monitor
This device is decent when it comes to adding a monitor to a laptop or computer without extra space on the video card. It will allow HDMI output using a single USB slot. When you plug the device in for the first time, it presents itself as a CD Rom drive with drivers for your windows computer. The drivers install easily enough, but are named "XXX USB Display", which could prove inappropriate when your company or spouse does a hardware audit. (Why does this say "XXX"???)The second monitor plugged into this device is decent. The colors are a little washed out and the maximum resolution is only 1920x1080. I have 23 inch monitors with a resolution of 2560x1440, so the display is a little blurry. Videos or moving windows on the display are choppy and unwatchable. Do not use this if you're thinking you can play games or watch internet video on the display. It should only be used for static web pages or documents. The display also is disabled when the computer is locked, so any open windows on the display are moved to another display when the computer is locked and have to be manually moved back to the display after unlocking the computer.PROS:* Extra display for laptops.* Full color (though a little washed out)* Full HD* Forwards sound over HDMICONS:* Display is disabled when computer is locked* Choppy video* Arguably awkward name ("XXX USB Device")All in all, it is a decent product for someone who has to work from home on a tiny laptop screen, but it shouldn't be used for video or gaming.
