Unlimited power!
Works just as intended. Fits right onto the UV-5R or other radios using the same battery and runs right out of you car's 12v port. Great if you're using your HT hooked up to an external antenna. Or an antenna in the car, but that doesn't work well anyway. Get yourself a bnc adapter for the radio and a magnetic or lip mount antenna for outside with bnc on the coax and your handheld instantly becomes a low powered mobile.

For Clarification, this will not charge your radio's battery...
When I purchased this item I was thinking, based on the heading over the item, that it would recharge my radio battery when plugged into a car "cigarette lighter" port. However, that's not how it functions. It works as an alternate power source drawing power from your cars alternator or battery and putting it straight into the radio. Don't misunderstand, it still works, just not how I initially thought it works, based on the description.Still a good thing to have if your radio battery is dead and your car is still running and can be used as a power source...

Good battery replacement
I really should buy a 20 watt box but I decided to be cheap and use my pocket radio in the car, a little two watt to 5 watt thing and it's good enough and this battery is great. I just turned my car on and the radio turns on and off I go

What Were They Thinking?
This product does not have any PROS so let's go straight to the CONS.1. The product description says, "Car Charger" which is totally inaccurate. It does not contain a battery and does not charge anything.2. When using this battery eliminator, it becomes so hot that you can't hold it in your hand.3. I opened this device to find inside a LM317 voltage regulator which has a maximum current rating of 1.5 amps. The Baofeng UV-5R draws 2.0 amps on high power. See the problem?4. The LM317 voltage regulator is fastened to the inside of the battery eliminator case USING HOT GLUE which turns to soup because the unit becomes too hot to hold.Don't waste your money on this "looks nice" but doesn't work product.
