Good gosh, who knew that a game as simple as Chinese checkers could look so good? The size of the board and the pieces is impressive: large enough to make this a set worth admiring, but not too large to be cumbersome. The craftsmanship is exceptional: the board and the marbles look and feel fantastic. This is a set that's as enjoyable to look at as it is to play. Perhaps my one and only issue is that, depending on the lighting, it can sometimes be a bit difficult to distinguish between certain colors, but perhaps this is simply an inherent issue with semi-translucent marbles in general. I'd still certainly prefer this to the cheap, opaque, roughly made plastic orbs that you get in cheaper sets.If you enjoy Chinese checkers and want a set worth owning, one that will give you plenty of enjoyment for a long time, it's this one.

I chose this set primarily because I liked the appearance and it has a wider width than most wooden sets. It feels good quality and has a luxe-feeling felted bottom and smooth edges, including in the trough for the marbles. However, I immediately realized that the actual gameplay area is small -- 26 cm/10.25 in from star-tip to star-tip in spite of the board being 13.6 in wide. Clearly this is because of the gutter around the board to store the marbles, but it did not occur to me until seeing it in person. That said, the marbles are nice and appear to be scaled down so that they are adequately spaced apart and I had no problem grasping marbles right next to other marbles. The clincher for me was that it is really a major pain trying to get the thing back into the box for storage. It's a snug fit to slide the board in, and if it's inserted a bit off from level, the marbles shift and roll in their channel, creating an upwards bump and clogging the way to slide it in further. This was many times while trying to slide the board into the box. Without distorting the box I don't see how you could reasonably expect to slide this in and out for storage and there is zero room in the box to store the marbles alongside the board. I don't think it would work well to store it vertically along with your other games because then the marbles would fall out of the channel. So despite this being a nice quality and attractive set, it won't work for us and will be going back.

Got this to play with the grandkids. Great size, and the marbles fit well in the holes. Nice sturdy board should last a long time.

Just received the board today and I'm absolutely impressed. Excellent construction, beautiful marble pieces and an overall great size. The pieces are not too close together but not far apart. The drawer that holds the marbles is all one piece across the inside of the board from one side to the other. Great construction quality. The only con would be this is not for kids. Everything is small and fragile, but really great quality. The look, feel and size is great for quick setup and small apartments. I highly recommend this board to adults, board gamers and decorative users.

This was much smaller than I thought it would be. When we play the game the marbles tend to easily roll off when accidentally touched.

We searched high and low for a chinese checkers board that had some sort of storage for the marbles. I love that this has a drawer... It's sturdy, but could probably scratch if not taken care of properly. Still in great condition for us, though, and it's had lots of use! A super fun family game!
