RE: ACDelco GM Original Equipment 24202835 Automatic Transmission Front Axle Shaft SealThe vehicle fitment guide picked this oil seal for a 4T65E transmission in a 2002 Buick LeSabre final drive axle from the transmission case to the CV axle. I verified the part with GM websites and it is correct.Shipping was fast. I was not able to drive to the Auto parts store and pick up a generic seal. Prefer GM OEM parts for Grandma's Buick.

good product
GM makes FM sell these seals to them at cost $1.95 each. So there is a real mark up on these. I worked for Federal mogul 2 yrs. in QA, where they make these seals or ones just like them. The really good seals have an internal ring spring to hold tension on the wiping surface. Seems well made, not used yet. I can't find the part # for the left side to match this seal. I wanted to change them both at the same time.

Replace this seal when servicing CV Axles
The axle seals wear over time, and so if you're replacing the CV axle you need to replace the axle seal. Note that the GM 4T65E transmission has two different size axle seals for the left (ACDelco 24243353) and right (ACDelco 24202835) axles. So make sure you pick up both ... Amazon usually recommends the other one in the "buy these together" field. In order to remove the seal, I recommend using a seal puller. They are very inexpensive, and unlike screwdrivers and picks they don't run the risk of damaging the housing the seal sits in.In order to seat the seal properly, you will need to use one of the following(a) a really big socket (35+ mm)(b) a similar big diameter pipe(c) a race and seal bearing kitI recommend (c) simply because there are plenty of other oddly sized seals in GM vehicles that a set like that will go very far. I am very certain that the people complaining of leaks didn't seat the seal properly, or worse they mangled the aluminum housing!

2003 Buick Lesabre
If you replace the cv shaft you need to replace the seal. Just do it now. It fit perfectly and looked like original. Be aware that the driver side and passenger side seal are different parts so don't order 2 of these.

OEM Quality
Works as intended! Hard to remove old gasket but if you are doing a CV axle job it is recommended to swap both gaskets!
