Excellent Hassle Free Bread machine. Very versatile & easy to use for a new bread maker
I am super new to bread making. As in I've never even used an oven to bake anything prior to this. But we decided to switch to making our own bread after reading about all the chemicals ( like propionates (calcium or sodium propionate), sorbates (sorbic acid and potassium sorbate), benzoates, parabens (methyl and propyl) and acetic acid) put in bread to prevent it from getting mold. Growing up, bread used to get mold in 3-4 days in the fridge. Now-a-days even a month later, its still mold free. While its great for the stores, not so good for our consumption. I pulled the trigger on this bread machine. I have now been using it for almost a month and baking about 3-4 times a week. I have made regular bread, milk bread, swedish rye bread, sourdough bread, poufed dough for pizza crust, used the dough function as well as a couple other recipes from the booklet that came with it. Each time the bread has come out outstanding. Its just like the bread from the store and the whole family loves it. The picture is of a slice from the Swedish Rye bread. It is light airy and very tasty. What I really like about this breadmaker is (1) the bread pan: I have not had a single loaf stick to it or refuse to slide out. Its literally as simple as overturning the pan and the loaf comes out. No pre seasoning needed either. (2) the paddle : It a simple enough paddle but it gets the dough all mixed up in a perfect ball. My kids love watching it work from the little view window. Its powerful and has great coverage. And it slides right out of the bread. I usually remove it though once the stir cycle is done (the machine indicates when thats done). Also if you leave it in, the bread still turns out great with an indent through a couple of slices. And soaking it in water pulls the paddle right out of the pan . (3) The machine is hassle free. Once you put in the ingredients, 3 hrs later you have a perfect loaf of bread. It comes with recipies in two booklets. One is in the manuel and one is a book by itself. I prefer the recipies in the manuel. It does not tell the setting for all the recipies in the book so you have to guess at it. For example for the swedish rye bread recipe, I used the multigrain setting. If there was one improvement to make, that would be it...ie to put the setting 1-12 next to each recipie give in the booklet. I wish we had more recipes too since this seems like such a versatile breadmaker. Also...yesterday I made dough for hamburger buns. they puffed up perfectly in the oven. That was a huge hit too. This is the new favorite appliance in the family. Overall I would give it 10 stars if I could.

Love this machine
Bought this KBS-011, 17-in-1 bread maker 2 years ago and haven’t bought a commercial loaf of bread since. The taste and texture of homemade bread is so good and far better than any commercial brand. This bread maker is, for me, infallible. We have never had a a loaf that wasn’t absolutely delicious. It takes @ 10 minutes to prepare a standard loaf and hit the start button then 3 hours later have a perfect loaf of bread. Using the leaven dough setting we have made bagels, English muffins, and French bread. I love that I don’t have to worry about kneading and rising, and re-kneading and heating up the kitchen with the oven. The heels are generally frozen and used for breadcrumbs when needed. We make a loaf of bread on medium setting @ every 3-4 days so this machine gets a lot of use so I can attest to the quality of KBS. Fast, easy, and great bread. What’s not to like? Add in the excellent 2 year warranty and fast, helpful response from customer service when needed I can confidently give a 5 star rating.

I'm so happy I chose KBS!
I spent literally hours and days looking at all the bread machines and reading reviews. Eventually my brain couldn't take it anymore and gave up for a few days. I knew what I wanted, but just couldn't wade through all the reviews and indecision anymore. That's when my sister took over and started looking for me. I told her my price range and she sent me a couple of links which I turned down for one reason or another. Then I looked at the last link she'd sent and I looked at this KBS machine again. It had everything I wanted within my price range. So I took the leap and ordered it.I began milling my own flour and using my Kitchen Aid mixer to knead the dough. I cannot do it by hand due to problems with my wrists. What a production! Grinding, measuring, kneading, raising, rolling out, bread pans, raising and baking. My husband said, "you can NEVER stop making this bread," and I knew this was not sustainable for me...not at 72! I live in an apartment with a kitchen the size of a postage stamp, and I knew my only option was to get a bread machine.I followed the KBS recipe for the wheat bread and stayed with the suggested measurements for the 2 pound loaf, (substituting a couple of things and adding a couple.) The photos attached are of my first loaf. I was blown away! The texture was beautiful, it raised into a perfect loaf, and the taste was out of this world. (Bread made with freshly milled flour tastes NOTHING like store bought packaged whole wheat flour.)When making my second loaf of bread, the machine began to squeak around the end of the kneading process. Of course I was worried, so I baked another the next day, and there was still a squeak. So I wrote to John at KBS (the card was included with the machine with the email address.) I was afraid I had done something wrong, and I just wanted to make sure it was normal and not a sign of a problem.Sure enough, just as the card stated, John replied in less then 12 hours. He assured me that towards the end of the kneading process it is not uncommon for the pan to make a little squeak of the rubber ring at the bottom of the machine where the pan locks in. He offered to replace the machine with a new one if that was my wish. But my husband and I decided since the machine worked perfectly there was no point is returning it. John said if there's ever a problem just let them know.I'm telling you, I've never experienced customer service like I have with KBS. My experience with customer service and with the machine has been nothing but positive. The machine comes with an extra paddle for kneading, in case something happens to one, which my sister thought was great. There is a quick start guide included, as well as a recipe book and a manual which also includes measurements for each setting for all 3 sizes of bread.I have another loaf rising in the machine right now, and I couldn't be happier with my purchase. Thank you to KBS for a wonderful product, and to John at KBS for all of his help. Oh, and not one tiny squeak this time.
