ok vest
Thing about this vest is that it's cheaply made. It will shrink the first time you wash and dry it so don't dry it, just hang to drip dry. Also, it will fade out sharply after its first washing. If you baby it, you will get a year out of it. Looks great when you first get it. It is on the small side bur rarely comes in the bigger sizes.

Let the buyer beware: The two front chest pockets are rendered moot
As two or three other reviewers have mentioned, whether manufactured incorrectly at the plant or done purposefully to save money on garment preparation — or, who knows, maybe they made faux pockets on purpose just to give it rugged, “dude” look — the two front chest pockets are basically useless. It’s difficult to describe exactly how this is the case without an actual video, but the best characterization I can offer is that these two pockets — on the inside (which in truth itself doesn’t exist because the pockets aren’t really tacked down to the vest’s outer shell) — are basically sewn shut. In short, unless you (or a trusted acquaintance) have a sewing machine, basic sewing/tailoring skills, and at least a few hours of time available, rendering all the pockets usable when they should have come that way when shipped from the factory, your “reward” for purchasing this product will be work that shouldn’t have been your due diligence to begin with… unless you don’t mind sauntering about with a vest whose arguably two most useful pocket sites are unusable. I’m lucky in that my girlfriend will be helping me correct the problem. You can be even luckier by reading this review and then avoiding the problem altogether by spending your money on an entirely different product.

Looks good. Buy a size larger than you normally use
Nice and looks good —washes well too. I thought I would like it he multitude of pockets but I forget where stuff was put and have to search each pocket. Used it when my husband and I were making lots of Lowes and HD trips for a small remodel project and it took care of where to put the many itty, bitty parts we had to buy. Color is good. Might suggest a larger size if you are not svelte and want to zip it all the way.

Exactly as advertised.
I had been buying this particular vest for the past 10 years. My only problem is that the dye washes out fairly quickly. After only a couple of washes the black starts to turn brown. Otherwise, I love both the vest and the price.

It's a really nice vest which can easily be altered for that "Han Solo" look. A word of caution though, the 'hood' isn't much of a hood, but for my use I didn't need it.

Not very good
I got this in September 2015 and it's time to replace it. It held up well. The only complaint is that the two chest pockets that close with a flap weren't sewn well (hence the 4 star rating). Each one is almost like having two small pockets in one. I don't use them much but having them properly made would be nice. I do like that it is cotton.8/29/19 update.Just got the new one and it's terrible. There is a problem with the two chest pockets. The old design was stupid enough, with a little pocket inside a medium pocket. Now it's a little pocket with an opening just big enough for a Sharpie to fit in the medium pocket. I don't know if this was a manufacturing problem or a design defect but those two pockets are useless. It's going back. I swear, nobody can make a decent ranger vest anymore. I've been wearing these types of vests since the late 80s and the quality has gone WAY down.
