The black and decker random orbital sander works fine and is long lasting. However, i ended up ruining TWO of these units when I went to replace the rubber portion of the unit (eventually the rubber part of the Sander can wear out so it does not grip the sandpaper as effectively. The replacement part was missing four holes so when I installed it, it instantly broke four pins that keeps rubber part in place. I did not realize the first time it happened that that was the problem. So a year later when I had worn out the rubber part on my second black and decker random oribital sander I used the second of the two defective replacement rubber center parts I had ordered and instantly ruined my second Black and Decker Random Orbit Sander. That is when I realized what had happened. It's not Black and Decker's fault I bought third party defective replacement parts, However I wish Black and Decker would more aggressively price their replacement parts so people don't end up buying third party defective replacements parts.

This sander works great. I ordered a whole bunch of sanding discs for my old craftsman sander, but I realized that my old sander does not accept the hook and loop (velcro) like most sanders nowadays do. Since all I can seem to find easily is the hook and loop design, I decided to buy a new sander. I do not use a sander very often, but when I do I want to make sure it will hold up and work great. Black and Decker is a cheaper name, but still a well-known name so I bought this one. I can safely say that I am satisfied, especially for the price.I like how there isn't an on off switch. The whole top piece is the switch! This makes it so easy to turn on and off and you can also lock it on as well. This is an 8 hole sander and most sanders and discs seem to be 8 hole anyway. The only drawback I see and its not a huge deal, but it is a pain in the butt to totally clean out the dust collector. I was shaking the thing out forever and dust was still coming out. I ended up using my air compressor to clean it out and that seemed to work good. I have used this on some boards that I glued together and it worked well. I was sanding for maybe an half an hour each time I worked on my project and I have no complaints. It is a very simple and affordable sander and I would definitely recommend this to any DIYer.

Bought this after trying many other mini sanders because it was light enough for my weak wrists to support and the handle was very comfortable in my smaller hands. It works like a champ! and the sanding discs are easy to peel off and stick on with velcro. The little filter keeps the whole process much cleaner than my old sander did. Overall I give it 5 stars!

My husband loves it. He works with twos like that all the time and need it a replacement and it works fantastic. Have not had any problems with it.

This sander has worked great on multiple projects already. It’s not heavy and does a nice job collecting the dust. I still wear a mask while using it and ear protection because it is loud.

I purchased the sander and liked it ok..would rate it a 3. Preferred varable speed but read this sander speed could be used to remove paint.My regret is I purchased extra sand discs because this sander only came with one.I ordered sand discs by S z ariant that had 10 each of 40 and 60 grit to use with this sander to get the paint off a cement tub.The disc that came with the sander worked, not sure if a black and decker brand. It came off without a problem.However the disc that I purchased separately ( Szariant) was very disappointing as it left the paper backing on the velcro pad after I finished sanding. I was using it for a short duration before the 40 grit got too smooth and wanted to put on a new one. Not saying the grit was not good enough only that I went to pull off the disc and it left the paper backing on the sander's velcro pad.The sander bag was helpful however dusty if you accidentally bump the bag against anything. Maybe that is normal hoped there was a lining inside to add extra insulation.The speed did not seem to be enough in removing paint with a coarse grit like 40.I am not sure if the sander 's velcro is permanently ruined or if I need another pad. I am not pleased with the ladder option after using it only a couple days.I am sharing this review with the sanding disc product because I am put off at the quality of it. The paper stuck on the pad detracts from the use of other discs sticking to the pad.

So far this is great. it is inexpensive and gets the job done. I went back and forth on my decision to buy a less expensive sander or shell the money for a better brand. If I have any issues with this sander I can replace it twice for the money I would spend on a Dewalt or other brand. There is plenty I feel like people don't know how to use an orbital sander and apply too much pressure while using and that is why the pad breaks off because there is too much torque. Take your time, do it right and this sander works like any other I have used. Great buy for the money.
