I bought these to use for my sourdough starter and they work great! I love the straight sides, wide open mouth and the glass lid. It’s the perfect jar in my opinion for this task.

I am in my "homesteading era" and these jars and the perfect sizes to hold a variety of things! I am a big fan of Weck and these are great for anything from sourdough starters to storage containers for ground beef, pickling, etc. I also love that they have 2-day shipping instead of waiting for it through Weck's official website. 10/10 would recommend.

Literally the best jar for sourdough. Perfect size for it. The lid clips are kinda annoying but for sourdough you don't really need them. The upside is they are spring enough if you do use them they will release the gasses before it becomes a grenade. Straight sides make it easy to clean and get out whatever you put inside. Also durable I accidentally dropped one from about 5 feet cleaning it and expected it to shatter. It survived without a scratch.

The jars are great, easy to clean, the fit of the lids are perfect, my starters are happy in their new home.

Nice jars! I purchased them to start making sourdough bread starters. It was suggested by someone in a YouTube video as their preferred jar. Currently using them to make kefir out of kefir grains, which we purchased on Amazon. They are a nice size jar for both purposes. They're very functional purchase. The thickness of the glass is nice. And they seem to be a good enough value for the price. The shape of them makes them more stackable, then a regular jar If that's important to you. Definitely maybe buying more in the future. I need to check to see if they make larger jars.

Perfect size and the wide top with straight sides makes it perfect for my sourdough starter. The glass is heavy so no worries if putting it in the dishwasher. A must buy for your kitchen.

I use these for my sourdough starters and love them. These have a nice wide opening that I can fit my hand into, making it super easy to stir my starter and also clean. I LOVE that the lid doesn't screw on, so there aren't any ridges at the opening like Mason jars have. It makes it so much easier to keep clean. You have the option of sealing the jars with the rubber gasket and clips, or leaving it open for airflow with the lid still on which is perfect for sourdough. The height of these are great, I almost never have spillage from my starter unless it's overachieving that day or I overfed it.
