ACDelco GM Original Equipment 24203910 Automatic Transmission Front Wheel Drive Shaft Seal with Protector

As anticipated, this seal is tricky to seat properly.Before you remove the old one, snap a pic of it, and take note on how far it sticks out from the trans. (2mm is the target amount you want sticking out)This is very important!If you seat it too deep or too shallow, it may leak.So, to pull the old one out, gently deform and bend the old one with a flat head screwdriver and hammer. This makes it easier to pull it out with pliers. Don’t hit the trans body, just the old seal.Once the old is out, loosely seat the new, enough that it won’t fall out.Now, I took an old 2x4 wood board, and placed the end against the seal, as a softer hitting surface. Then stood outside the wheel well and hit the other side with a hammer.Slowly checking the depth and tapping with the hammer. Until the seal was seated at the same depth as the old one in the picture I took earlier.I didn’t end up using the protector, my new CV axle came with them installed. But it’s super important that you replace the old protector, with a new one when doing a trans-axle seal change.Good Luck!Ps- search that trans type on YouTube for good video assistance.(Pics are of old nasty seal and new green one)

Worked great and solved our problem that we were having with play in the CV axle.

Went cheap and installed two non oem seals initially. Both cheaper seals leaked, c clips not sized right, sleeve caused vibrations. Swapped with these and it is a night and day difference. Still holding up, been a couple thousand miles so far.Save your time and money and get the oem from the get go

Details state it "will not fit" an 06 Saturn Ion quad coupe 3, 2.2. FALSE! This is the oem part, fits perfectly on this vehicle. It's also the same part # at my local Chevy dealer parts department.

Had this seal on my 06 Cobalt leaking and after replacing it i havnt had the problem since

1/2 the price at my local parts store. True GM parts.

Found price to be much less for very same item at autozone.
