Yes, packed well. Beautiful wine glasses I have them displayed on my shelve look beautiful and use daily for my glass of wine. Lots of compliments... my favorite wine glass

Does the black matte color fade or chip easily when washed?

Mine has not chipped or faded, but I only hand wash them. I would not recommend putting in the dishwasher.
