This quote is right off the package, but I know for a fact that when we accidentally drilled too large a hole then filled it with JB Weld, we were able to drill a smaller hole with no problem.

I think it would work well. Should be stronger than regular epoxies. Make sure that there is no oil film on the parts first.

Getting the metal clean first is the problem. Replace the oil pan, or have it welded by an expert.
