The flat side Be careful to purchase the right kind of adhesive at an auto supply store or you will melt the hood liner Also you must meticulously clean the underside of the hood Installation is a two person job

Did you spray the adhesive directly on the underside of the hood and roll it back after applying the clips?

First I covered the engine and fenders. Then I cleaned the hood surface. I sprayed hi temp adhesive on the hood surface and the pad surface. I let the adhesive get tacky, about 5 minutes. I got a helper and started the install at the top of the hood going down. ( as soon as you put the pad on the hood it sticks instantly) Once in place just press the pad everywhere. You may have to trim some pad at the bottom. Then install the clips.

The pads are usually foam. Use a good hi temp adhesive. Spray on both surfaces and let get tacky.

IDK, but it fits my SL320 perfectly and I'm pleased with it.
