Purchased to make homemade body butter and was very pleased! It’s unrefined so it IS going to have some smell to it but definitely not as pungent as other brands I’ve tried. I mixed equal parts Shea butter, mango butter, coconut oil, and sweet almond. One batch was unscented and the other I added essential oils. Turned out great!

First time ordering Shea butter and I really don’t like to complain but when I opened my package I was not pleased (photos attached). The actual ziplock bag containing the butter was sliced at the top near the opening and product was on the inside of the outer packaging. I have bought other products from Oslove and never had this problem. The smell wasn’t what I would call bad but maybe a light earthy aroma, which I’ve heard is the scent of organic Shea butter. My main concern is the product having a chalk-like color in certain spots. I did use a small portion of the product in a body butter mixed with other butters but I ran across a video of a woman saying if you have white spots in your Shea butter that means it’s bad. Now I’m wondering how true that is and if it has happened to anyone else, because I’m afraid to use it now.

Has a very nice texture....but it smells so bad that I can’t use it! Smells like burnt rubber or plastic. I was hoping that the smell would dissipate after putting it on, but it did not. From what other reviews say, it should not have any smell, or very little smell...so I’m not sure if I just got a bad batch or what.

I didn’t use this product right away when purchasing it because it was intended for Christmas gifts. I whipped it with a little pure vitamin E oil. I really liked how little I had to use and how it felt on my skin. I however couldn’t give out the jars I made as gifts because of the smell. There was a foul smell to it. I was really disappointed I wanted to love this product 🙁
