Awesome HDMI Switcher! Can't do much better than this!
I bought this HDMI switcher to replace an ailing, dying one that I had been using for awhile. That one I picked up for less than half of the price of this one. Heck, I even picked up a spare too, because it was so cheap! But, that cost saving measure ended up being my demise, as they both died on me within a relatively short period, leaving me with no switcher, and a non-functional TV.I hopped back on Amazon to find a solid replacement, and came across this one. At a bit over twice the cost of my previous one, I had to think long and hard about whether or not I should buy this one. But eventually, I pulled the trigger and ordered it. When it arrived and got set up, I was amazed! For starters, the packaging on this thing is rock solid. It arrived packaged in a thick, solid, magnetically clasped cardboard box. There was absolutely no way that this thing was going to get damaged in shipping. And the thickness of the packaging box, plus the awesome magnetic clasps on the front of the box alone give me the impression that the product itself is going to be quality!Taking it out of the box, I was surprised with how light it was. There's really not much to the device, other than a plastic housing, with air holes on the sides to allow airflow to keep the device cool, LEDs on the front for indication, and the ports on the back. It's sleek and small (a bit bigger than a deck of cards). It has a set of rubber feet on the bottom to help it stand off the surface a bit, as well as to provide it with a bit of grip to stay put with the weight of the cables behind it.Speaking of cables - I LOVE that this has all of the cables plugged into the back of it! My other has ports scattered around all sides of it. This made it hard to run wire and place it in a corner somewhere. With this one, however, all the cables leaving the rear of the device made it much easier to store in a place out of the way, and to better manage the cables coming off of it.The indicator lights on the front are a great touch too. They're red if a powered device is plugged into the switch, and the red light turns blue when that input is selected as the source for video feed. In addition, the output LED turns off when the TV (or other output source) isn't turned on. I don't have any proof, but I suspect that this helps to keep the device cool, as it doesn't get warm when on for days at a time while the TV is turned off. My previous one would overheat, even if the TV wasn't on, as it was always constantly pumping the video feed through to the output, even if it wasn't needed, since the TV was off. Having this one indicate that the TV is off (and I suspect stop processing video feed during this time) is a great perk!Even better than my other, this one provides a nice Picture in Picture (PiP) capability as well! It's not a solid, 30-60 fps video feed in the PiP mode, but it's useful for what it's for - providing a visual indicator of what's going on with another input, in instances where you may need to switch back and forth between inputs. I've been using mine mainly to switch between an Android TV box, and my Windows PC, so this has been useful to see if any alerts have popped up on my PC that require attention. Being able to do this without having to actually switch between inputs is a great feature!Lastly, the wireless remote that comes with it does the job nicely. It's nothing fancy, and is roughly the same size and shape as many other HDMI switchers sold by Amazon. But this remote has support for the PiP feature, switching inputs directly, and even recalling back to the previous input. All in all, this device does what it's supposed to, and does it well! There's nothing flashy about it. You simply plug in your HDMI sources, tuck the device away, and use the remote to switch inputs as needed. It supports 4K / 3D 1080p, and is HDMI 1.4a compliant. One important point to note, however, is that due to the fact it's not HDMI 2.0, you will not be able to get a full 4K@60fps signal. You will be capped at the older, 4K@30fps feed. However, at 1080p, this thing will certainly do 1080p@60fps (and likely 1080p@120fps, but I can't test this, as I no longer have a 120hz capable monitor).I'm very satisfied with my purchase of this switcher, and am glad to have moved on past the crummy old one I used to have!

No off switch
I like the switch for what it is. I chose this switcher because it had good ratings on several review tech sites on the web. The cost was a bit high for not having certain features such as Auto switch or an on/off switch or Picture in Picture. It does what its supposed to do but you have to do it manually. Definitely like the streamlined look and the light indicators. Red means you have a cable connected but the external device is not turned on. So if you have 4 devices connected, they will all indicate red if they are off. Blue indicates the external device is connected and turned on. if nothing is connected to a specific port, no lights will be displayed for that port. Unless the USB switch is connected to your TV power, the Switch will never turn off. I originally had connected the USB power to a Power strip and it never turned off. Once I switched the USB power directly to the TV USB port, it would turn the Switcher off when I turned the TV off. I noticed the previous 4 port version had the auto switch feature. This 5 port one does not. Not sure why. Maybe they had issues with it not functioning??Also, this one does not feature the Picture in Picture feature either. Not a big thing but for the price, it should included those additional features, IMHP. The remote seems to work well. It's just very small. You can manually switch the inputs directly on the switcher as well. Also, I noticed a bit of a sound latency. Especially when I connected the Blue Ray Player. It was almost a full second behind! Not sure how to fix that or if its even fixable. It was so noticeable that I had to connect The BR player directly to the TV port in order to get sound to sync correctly. It was less noticeable with the DVR and Apple TV connections but still, there was a slight latency. Overall, a decent switcher. Hoping it lasts longer than the last Switcher I bought which only gave me about 10 months before it started shutting the TV off and Losing connection intermittently. Hoping this review helps people to decide which Switcher to purchase.

Need more than 3 HDMI ports with that new TV? This is the answer!
I love this HDMI switch, and here's why:1. This is an automatic HDMI switch. That means that when it senses a load on a port (in other words, when you turn on the device you've hooked up and the picture from that device is being sent to the TV or Monitor), it switches automatically to that port - no manual switching required! It does come with a hand-held switch if you really want to switch it yourself, but it's not necessary.2. HDMI Port 1 is the default port. So, if you're using a device that's hooked up to HDMI Port 2 - 4, once you turn it off, HDMI Port 1 is re-enabled.3. This HDMI switch is made specifically to handle Ultra High Density (UHD) signals. So, no 'dumbing down' the signal to HD or below with this port. Everything comes through crystal clear! Here's how I used this switch:I hooked up my cable box signal to HDMI Port 1. Since HDMI Port 1 is the default port, the cable box sends the default signal to my TV. I have a Wii- U hooked up on port 2, an X-Box 360 on port 3, and a PS 3 on port 4, which doubles as my blu-ray player. I normally keep my game systems off, so when I turn on my TV, the signal coming through is the cable. If I want to watch a movie, I simply put the blu-ray disk into my PS 3 and turn it on. Instantly, the signal switches to the PS 3. Once I'm done and I turn off the PS 3, the signal returns to cable, just like I want. The same thing happens when I play the Wii-U or X-box. Turn it on, it's immediately available. Turn it off, I'm back to watching what's on TV.Since many TVs today come with only 3 HDMI ports (as mine does), I only need to use HDMI Port 1 on my TV for everything that's hooked up to the switch, leaving HDMI 2 open for my computer, and HDMI 3 open for the PS 4. It's been a terrific switch, and for $41.99, the price is really reasonable!
