Q: Can you connect to listen to a Bluetooth speaker?

As long as your speaker has an aux port you can connect via cable. It will not broadcast a Bluetooth signal.

Q: Has anyone found a solution for the drag caused by the lid?

I do not have this player and am just researching it at the moment myself to consider buying - so my guess here might not be relevant, but have you tried opening it up all the way and letting the lid sit all the way back? Will the hinge even allow it to go that far back? Just a guess.

Q: We are unable to connect the bluetooth via iphone, has anyone else had this problem?
