Light and Loud, Good Battery Life, Great Support
I bought this for my one-man show - I play mostly blues with guitar and backing tracks. The bluetooth streaming from my iPad and Vocal microphone channel works very well (still had another channel free). It's pretty light and the battery seems to last forever. I had some questions for Mackie, and found them easy to get a hold of and very helpful! I really think Mackie is a great all around choice with pricing fair compared to the competition. But I really liked their support. I bought another Mackie speaker (open box) that had a bad cable, and they sent me a new one quickly and at no charge. I can wholeheartedly recommend this speaker and Mackie as a company that provides real help to customers.

A must for bad backs and small rooms!
I'm on the wrong side of 50 with a balky lower back. I was really looking for something lighter than my 30.3lb QSC CP12s to be hoisting on poles and lugging at the and of the night. I play smooth jazz sax over backing tracks at cocktail hours and retirement facilities. I was never blasting the doors off with DJ volume. A pair of these has been absolutely perfect! Great, rich sound for the size and 40+% lower weight. Ample volume for the needs of most acts like mine, I would think. The battery power is probably not something I'll use much, but for those graveside memorial gigs or wedding proposals in a remote gazebo, it will be crucial. I may sell my Roland BA330 and use these instead. Bluetooth backing tracks from my iPad into one speaker, then linked cordless into the other. Just perfect. It's annoying that bluetooth connectivity BETWEEN linked speakers is limited to bluetooth inputs, but If I actually need to mic my sax, I'd be using my QSC's anyway. Bravo Mackie!

These speakers are super handy to a mobile DJ.
I have two of these speakers and they are awesome for outdoor wedding ceremonies and cocktail hours. They sound great and have a very long lasting battery. Pair these with a girl transmitter and you can set them up wherever you need them. If I have a corner of a room that I want to reinforce sound in, I'll grab one of these speakers and set it up there. This allows for the audience in the back of the reception hall to hear the officiant or wedding speeches without having to turn up my main system blasting the people in front. I love these speakers.

Best portable speaker on the planet!
I'm a mobile Dj and use either a monitor or small set of speakers from time to time depending on the gig. In the past I've used the Yorkville Coliseum series 8in speaker and they have been amazing, but they are getting a little old and also on the heavy side for its size. So I decided to look around for a replacement and have been eyeing the Mackie Go 8 for a while. I saw recently they had a price drop so decided to snag one up. I have to say I'm super impressed to say the least. I just did a large gig for a local casino on NYE and thus little speaker rocked the house for my monitor. Crisp and clear highs and decent lows for its size. Battery power last me several hours so that's a huge plus. Being battery powered also allowed me to place the speaker pretty much anywhere on the table with only one 1/4 cord running to it for a booth out. Amazing sound out of this little design and will be definitely buying me another to link up with it. It's versatile so I'll be using it for small gigs such as a wedding ceremony outside or a small backyard party. Etc...Now just being super picky here (cuz I'm a little anal when it comes to sound and design) My only reason for not offering 5 stars is there is a option to run the Mackie thump app. The app (although offers a few additional options) is very limited. There is a EQ but only for highs and lows.. no mids. Which this is a little confusing why they didn't include this. Also no option to adjust the EQ manually either which was a small downer. Plus side is the speaker offers some advantages with inputs, feedback eliminater, ducking and Bluetooth. Plus the major thing for me was this dang thing sounds really good out the box and you can push plenty of power through it. Due to those reasons, it's a keeper. With the price drop at around $320 it's a no brainer. For the money you can't go wrong with this Mackie.

great price and great battery powered speaker
I got this at a really great price and it has all the power I need for performing at a nursing home. Since it's battery powered I never have to look for an AC outlet to power it up. The sound is clean and sufficiently loud for a small venue of usually around 20 people. It's light and small so set up is quick.
