I had to quit smoking in order to have foot surgery end of June 2017. I didn't know how detrimental nicotine is to wound healing , especially bone wounds as I was going to have, until my doctor explained it and I verified it on line. Also, active smoking can have a serious impact on you if you have general anesthetic, which I did. I had smoked Menthol for 45 years. My last 'real' cigarette was May 22 and I found it relatively easy to quit, probably because I had a real reason! However, I found the 'habit' of smoking was much more difficult to stop. I found these cocoa bean sticks by Nicotine Free on line and ordered a single pack to try them out. Much to my surprise, they tasted much like my menthol cigs (Misty) only they were stronger tasting. I used the trick the company suggested with my first pack to stick a straight pin through the filter and it significantly cut back on the strength. I immediately ordered a carton, partly because the cost was better than buying individual packs and because I was going to be immobile for 2-4 wks following surgery. Can you imagine having recently stopped smoking and laying in the bed for most of the 24 hours a day for what turned out to be 4 wks!! I started using these cocoa bean sticks around the middle of June andthey proved themselves nicotine free when I blood-tested negative for nicotine on June 21. I've since had some very stressful medical events in my family and was so glad I had these sticks available to help relieve that stress. 4 weeks post-op my surgeon said my xrays showed bones were healing as hoped for and swelling was relatively minimal. She said this was mainly due to my stopping smoking as I had complex, invasive surgery. Of course she asked how difficult it had been to quit and I fessed up about using the sticks. To my surprise, her response was 'use whatever it takes' and had nothing negative to say about this product. My foot is now healed and I'm smoking only a few of the sticks over a week's time. Because it is often so difficult for a former smoker not to go back to cigs when chaos occurs, I will always have Smoke Free sticks available. This product was so important in my effort to stop smoking and I will always be grateful for them. I've received each of my shipments within 2 days max of placing the order by paying a little extra for expedited shipping and the seller has been great to work with. I strongly recommend using these sticks for anyone who is trying to stop smoking, whether gradually over a period of time or cold turkey as I did.

I was excited to get them lit up took a drag it instantly burnt my throat thought maybe was just me took two more puffs had to put it out it burns your throat and leaves a terrible after taste that i could not get rid of till next day Terrible Product

I'm going to give this 3 stars for now as I'm not really sure. These are the only non nicotine cigarettes I've tried. First off they taste kind of nasty. But if you've smoked off brand cheap cigs in the past, these aren't too far off from that. So they are tolerable and can probably be gotten used if you smoke these full time or to curb cravings. I still smoke regular cigs, so the contrast is there. I'm trying to work these into my habit and maybe cut back and quit.I'm not sure I'm a nicotine junky as much as I'm into the ritual.Everything triggers me. From drinking to sitting in traffic to the smoke breaks at work. I'm hoping these will help.As far as the details. These are regulars. I smoke 100's, and it takes about 5 minutes to smoke one of these compared to 8 on my 100's. They create a very long cherry and you have to be careful with flicking the ashes. I've flicked the entire cherry off several times and it creates a bit of a mess with burning fragments. I try and be careful if I smoke in my vehicle because I don't have a huge ashtray to catch all of it. As they burn down the paper and the filter get weaker, so I have to be careful when using an ashtray because it may slip out of the grooves and land on a table or floor. They get hotter as you smoke it down, so I generally don't smoke them down to the filter because of burnt lips or fingers. I imagine half of the chemicals that are in real cigs are to control these things. I have used a plastic filtering tip with them too and and they work okay, but as the filter gets weak and starts to crumple it can fall out. It blackens the tips up pretty good, so I wonder about what's going into my lungs.So, I don't think I would want to chain smoke these things, but I think it may be a good crutch for the light smoker who smokes less than a pack a day, or to get you through a night of drinking without getting hooked back on nicotine. How you use them depends on your needs.The smell isn't bad, in fact I've only noticed a slight difference.I'm not down on this product, just trying to detail some of the differences between these and regular cigarettes. They also come with instructions on how you can change the strength and flavor by pin-holing the filter. I haven't tried that yet. The flavor, while not the greatest, isn't overpowering to me so I haven't bothered.I smoke regular and menthol cigarettes. Menthol only occasionally, so I ordered the menthol flavor and maybe I can completely switch to these for my menthol cravings. I'll probably restock on these regulars too unless I find something better.

The only thing I don't like is I smoke the 100's and these are shorts but they work the way they are supposed to. I was completely off nicotine until I ran out. It takes about four days for the new carton to reach me after I order but it just made me aware that I need to order more than one carton at a time. I am a 3 pack a day smoker and the one carton lasted me about 4 days. I was actually slowing down on my smoking. Now that I know how long one carton will last, I can plan ahead. These are by far cheaper than tobacco and they taste similar to tobacco, it makes the transition easier than vaping. I do not like vaping, there is far too much upkeep with vapes, electronic cigs feel wrong and so forth. These make it easier to stop the nicotine because it feels and smokes like a tobacco cigarette so you can trick yourself into believing that you are getting the nicotine without getting the nicotine. I feel these will make it easier to actually quit smoking all together. I give these a five star rating for ease of use and taste it alright for me. I like that instead of the nasty cigarette smell, it smells like chocolate.
