Xbox Series X compatible!
Just received this cable today to plug my Xbox Series X to my gaming monitor which offers 1440p at 120hz via DisplayPort only. Plugged it up to each and plugged the pigtail into a usb charging block. Adjusted the settings on my Xbox and voila. It worked on the first try. I will continue to test for long term reliability, but so far so good. I think a lot of people’s issues could be traced back to the pigtail not receiving enough power or their system’s settings.

Excellent with HDMI Output of Mac Mini M1
I'm using this to support dual monitors on a 2022 Mac Mini with the M1 chip. The Mini only supports a second monitor through its HDMI output. I'm running the HDMI via this adaptor/cable into a KVM that has Display Port inputs, and thence into a Dell monitor.Power Supply Issue: When I first hooked this up, I was getting power from one of the USB/A ports on the Mini. Evidently the Mini doesn't provide sufficient power. So the image on the monitor was tearing and jumping and going black every few seconds. I moved this adaptor's power connection over to a well-powered USB strip, and all is good now. Image is stable and crisp.

Perfect for Xbox to monitor with DP input
We are using this cable from an Xbox (or any gaming device with an HDMI output would probably work) to a monitor that has a DP input.

🔌📺 HDMI to DisplayPort Adapter: Bridging the Gap Between Frustration and 4K Bliss! 😓🖥️
Hold onto your tech gadgets, because I've found an adapter that promises to deliver a 4K@60Hz visual feast but might leave you more frustrated than satisfied - the TECHTOBOX HDMI to DisplayPort Adapter! 🍔🍟At first glance, it seems like the ultimate solution to connect your HDMI device to a DisplayPort monitor or projector. It claims to bring you vivid 3D video effects and high-quality audio. However, the reality is a bit more complicated. It's like ordering a gourmet burger and receiving a soggy, lukewarm fast-food meal. 🍔🤨Let's talk about reliability and durability. They claim the one-piece aluminum housing is corrosion-resistant and that the connectors are gold-plated for amazing clarity and sound. However, in practice, you might experience signal loss and connectivity issues. It's like having a fancy sports car with a sputtering engine. 🚗💨Now, the plug-and-play feature sounds great, but it may not live up to its promise. While it requires no drivers or software installation, you might find yourself troubleshooting for hours instead of enjoying your 4K content. It's like trying to set up a complex board game with missing pieces. 🎲🧩As for compatibility, the adapter is finicky. It only supports video from HDMI to DP, and it's not bi-directional. This means you can't easily switch between devices. It's like trying to open a door with the wrong key. 🚪🔑And don't even get me started on its compatibility with specific devices. If you're using VR headsets or Oculus, forget about it. And certain consoles like the Switch and Xbox series might not play nice with it either. It's like inviting friends to a party, but only a few can get through the door. 🎮🥳Finally, they promise attentive customer service and a 24-month warranty, but you might find it challenging to get a fast response when you encounter issues. It's like trying to call a hotline and getting stuck on hold. ☎️🙄So, if you're expecting a seamless 4K experience, I'd recommend you explore other options. The TECHTOBOX HDMI to DisplayPort Adapter might just be more of a tech headache than a solution. Save your time, save your frustration, and save yourself from disappointment. 🕒🤯💻#HDMIAdapterWoes #TechTangle #ConnectionConfusion #SaveYourSatisfaction

This adapter is not bi-directional and will not work with an HP Reverb VR headset.
Just a note and caution for my fellow gamers. This unit did not work for me and it is my fault. I didn't understand that I needed a bi-directional solution to plug in and use my DisplayPort interfacing HP Reverb VR headset. Please don't make the same mistake if you are looking for a solution to plug in your own VR headset. Beyond that, I think this product works as advertised and is a good product. If you want to simply take an HDMI output and route it to a DisplayPort input, this should work for you.

It works with 2020 M1 MacMini!
This cable was the final piece of the puzzle. Saved me from buying any of the much more expensive hubs that offer dual monitor output capabilities. A very cost effective solution to adding a second monitor to an Apple MacMini M1 2020. Both monitors (28” Asus VP28UQG) are now running 60hz, 4K, 3840 x 2160. Left monitor is connected to the MacMini using a USB-C out to Display Port in cable. Right monitor is connected to the MacMini from HDMI out to Display Port in using this cable. Just be aware this is a powered cable, so you also need to plug the USB side into another hub. I use an 11 port Apange USB 3.0 powered hub that is connected to the MacMini which allows me to quickly mount external hard drives and other accessories to the M1 Mini. I even have a 10 year old LaCie Blu-Ray disc drive hooked into the hub that lets me play DVDs on the MacMini. Ventura DOES include the Apple DVD player, it is just buried in the System Library.
