My monitor is just a hair over 24" wide. Will the 24" wide cover fit? Meaning, is there a little extra buffer in the dimensions or no?

It might fit. My screen is 22.5" wide and it just fits. The cover itself measures 24" wide. I would say get one a little wider.

37” will be great if you don’t mind it being a little oversized and if you are not expecting to travel with your monitor. If you expect to cover your monitor to put it in a carrying case, get a cover that is as snug to your monitor size as can be. This cover does not travel well.
