The hose is supported by spiral metal ribs and you could easily punch a hole in the hose. The vent hose is an expendable item with finite life. It is inexpensive to replace. Additionally, if your dryer vent travels any distance through the structure to vent out, that should be cleaned by professionals at least every few years.

will it work for bathroom vent?
