Expensive but totally worth it in the long run.
I have been using Sony cameras NEX and A7n and A7rn that take this battery for many years now. Put off by the price of the OEM units I researched and bought recommended 3rd party batteries. I tested these for capacity and only one brand had equivalent, or better capacity to the Sonys, this was DSTE. Satisfied, I bought several DSTE batteries. In early use the DSTEs were as good as my Sonys, but after a few months I noticed that they began to sef-discharge rapidly and gradually lost capacity.I still have the Sony batteries that came with my cameras, they still have good capacity and hold charge well on the shelf. ALL of the 3rd party batteries I have tried are long gone, they simply do not last, and these were brands recommended by users on the net.I only buy OEM Sony batteries now, and not one of these has let me down so far (touches wood). In this case the old adage "if you buy cheap, you buy twice" really does apply.

Original works best
Not much more to say, these are great and last long. Considering how expensive cameras can be I wouldn't want to risk putting a 3party battery in it!

Sony Nex Battery
18 Months ago, I purchased a new Sony Nex 5. The camera came with a Sony Nex battery. I decided to purchase a extra battery on Amazon sold as Genuine Sony, the battery cost less than £30, compared to a Sony shop battery at nearly £80.00I have used both batteries equaly, both gave very similar performaces. Last month one of the batteries totally died. The other one is still working like new. On closer inspection I noticed that one of the batteries was a fake Sony, as described in the Amazon reviews. Which battery do you think died? No it was not the fake, it was the genuine Sony that came with the camera that died. The fake one is still working. A few weeks ago I purchased another battery from Amazon, this time a brand name battery (Weiss). On very close inspection this is exactly the same battery as the Sony fake, except for the lable. Even the weight is 100% the same. I am going to be very happy with the new battery, because if its as good as the Sony fake, it will outlast a genuine Sony battery, at just over a 1/4 of the cost of a Sony.

Geuine Sony battery
Great battery, it is a feuine Sony battery and as expected performs very well. It does seem to be expensive for a battery but the price on amazon is cheaper that others I have seen. Really happy with it regardless, definitely worth buying original batteries instead of other brands

Not Fully Compatible
I bought this battery believing it to be a genuine Sony product but it is not. An examination of the batteries label will review this. It seems to work fine on my a55 but fails to operate the NEX7. Disappointed in not spotting this earlier.

Genuine parts are better
This is so much better than another aftermarket brand that I purchased from Amazon. That didn't last half as long (in fact about a quarter) as this Sony one. Not really saving here.
