Easy, Fast Delicious Food for an Excellent Price
I have just eaten a delicious meal that took my 6 - 8 minutes to make. This has got to be one of the best purchases Ive ever made and I will tell you why but first Id like to try and clear up any doubts and questions you may have as Ive noticed some answers to questions seem to cause more confusion than anything. Right first of all, if you want a machine that toasts bread, heats beans and will poach, boil, scramble and make an omelette then you need to buy this Tefal Toast n Beans machine. This machine will NOT cook uncooked meat, even if its cut up small and you are risking a nice dose of salmonella if you do try. It will however reheat meat that has already been cooked but meke sure you give it a thorough heating. When you first get the machine make sure you remove ALL the sticky lables and every piece of cardboard and paper. Dont forget to check the crumb drawer too. You must follow the steps for using the machine the first time as it is essential for ensuring your machine calibrates and runs properly. Be patient the first time you turn on the toaster, it can take 5-8 minutes for the toaster to complete it's cycle and for the lever to pop up. The temptation to press the stop button is very easy to give in to but dont. You have to put the toaster on 3 times on full (5) and then after its cooled you need to put water in the tray and let it run through it's cycle until the waters gone and the machine has turned off. The machine automatically turns off when the water boils dry. If you need to turn off the machine when you start using it properly just press the button with the line through it (its in the middle at the bottom) and the machine stops what its doing. DO NOT cover the steam hole with anything and keeps hands etc away from it. The machine gets extremely hot very quickly so make sure you have it situated on a flat surface with nothing overhead or touching it. Keep children and pets out of the kitchen when using it is my advice. Eggs poached, scrambled and omelettes are all cooked in the little frying pan. It is non stick but wipe it round with some oil on kitchen roll before cooking as the fast heat makes the egg stick to it regardless. When washing the pan just use soapy water and a sponge or cloth NOTHING ELSE any stuck food washes off easily. To cook boiled eggs you must first puncture the widest end of the egg. On the bottom of the measuring jug is a tiny metal pin. This is what you use to puncture the hole in the widest end of the egg. Its sharp so watch your fingers and remember to replace the little plastic cap over it when youre finished. After you pierce the bottom of your egg (just once) you place the egg/eggs onto the egg holder pan pierced end upwards so make sure you pierce the wider end of the egg. Let me clarify one thing that seems to have a few people confused, you CANNOT cook beans and egg at the same time because there is only one pan and even if you had two pans you couldnt stack them properly to let the steam get through them both. I suppose if you didnt mind a bit of an Eton Mess, you could crack an egg over the beans and cook them together that way but youd have to reduce the amount of beans to 100gms. You CAN however cook beans and a boiled egg/eggs at the same time as the eggs sit in their holder and the pan then goes on top. This brings me back to my tea tonight and how i got beans, poached egg and toast all on my plate hot and ready to eat in around 6 - 8minutes. I put 2 slices of bread into the toaster and a measure of cold water into the bowl on the toaster (this is the heating bowl and cannot be removed from the machine). You must always use Cold water or the food wont cook properly. I put 200gms (1/2 a tin) of beans in the pan. I placed the empty egg holder onto the water bowl and then the pan with beans on top and finally the the domed lid on top. I pressed the middle top button (it has the toast, beans and egg pic on it) and the little light flashes so I depressed the toaster lever and cooking begins ( I have the toaster set at 2 as I'm using Warburton's Danish sliced bread and I know it browns it perfectly at this. The toaster takes medium sized bread with no problem. DONT force overly thick slices into it. It's trial and error how thick a slice it can take but overly thick will cause it to stick and go on fire!). While everything is cooking I measure out the water for poached eggs and get an egg out of the fridge. I also put a little oil onto a piece of kitchen roll.. The toast suddenly pops up all brown and perfect so I put it onto a plate and quickly spread some Flora on it. Just as I finish that the machine switches off and the beans are ready. I quickly stir them to distribute the heat through them and pour them onto the toast. I quickly rinse the pan under the tap, dry it and wipe it round with the oiled kitchen paper. I break the egg into it, put the measured water onto the heating bowl and put the pan onto the machine with the lid on. This time as no toast so I press the far right button which just has pics of beans and egg. The light comes on but doesnt flash as the toaster lever does not need to be depressed. The machine starts to heat quickly and within minutes the egg is ready. I only put in the minimal amount of water as i like my eggs soft. Its perfect so i put it on top of my beans on toast which are still hot and I woof them all down....delicious! I know this is long and ive gone on and on but I wanted the doubters to be reassured that this machine does what it says it will. A fast, hot meal i. A fraction of the time it would normally take and only a tiny pan to rinse. One other thing is, the measuring beaker has lots of measurements that are written in at least 2 other languages. English is sandwiched between them. Its the only thing thats a bit awkward because its hard to read anything on the beaker because its so small. Just spend a few minutes familiarising yourself with it and you will be fine. One last warning tip, DONT use any thing but the pan/accessories that come with it. If it was okay to use a plastic tub on top of the pan the manufactures would have told you. If you misuse it then you can forget about your warranty. I hope you all buy this amazing toaster and enjoy it as much as I do.

This is our second one
We love this toast and egg. It's our second one. Last one we started putting potato waffles in it and the grease clogged it up and it set off the smoke detector. It's the only appliance that cooks eggs perfect. Boiled and poached. Toaster is good. Most toasters are good I know but it's the egg function that we would have missed. BTW, we had last toast n egg for 12 years. Great product, no hesitation in buying. They updated the colour and the size of the egg/bean pan. Also, my wife could hear a high piercing noise from the old one which is now gone. Buy it😀

Good but could be better
I used to have the same kind of toaster from an American brand when I lived in the US. I really got used to my breakfast sandwich, so I thought I'd get one here as well. It's a good toaster, and easy to make your eggs/beans with it as well. I also like that it is very easy to clean; you only need to wash the egg/bean dish. There are 2 differences between this one and the US version (in appearance, they look exactly the same), and I think in both, the US version is superior.1. The US version does not release the bread until the egg is ready. The heating element turns off, so it doesn't get burned, but it still has enough heat to keep the bread warm until the egg is ready. I really liked this feature; the Tefal version doesn't have it.2. What is more important for me: the "egg dish" in the US version is much smaller in diameter. Which means that it would be hard to heat beans in it (too small), but I don't do that most of the time anyway. On the plus side, however, the egg ends up being the size of a breakfast muffin, which then makes for a perfect breakfast sandwich. In the Tefal version, the dish is larger, and despite the little notch that would suggest that the egg would just stay in the middle, it doesn't. So you get a thinner, large-diameter egg, which is too big. I'm still looking into how I could get the tiny dish.

Brekkie of kings
Works as described, convienient that the amount of water for a one egg scramble /poach / soft boil is the same. I can just auto pilot breakfast without filling pans etc , and its all done in a few minutes. As long as its durability holds up i think its great.

🥚 Perfect for a Uni-Bound Brother - Eggs Over Beans!
💸 I bought this for £44.00.I bought this as a gift for my brother, who’s heading off to uni, and it’s been super useful and handy. Originally, I thought it’d be great for his baked beans, but he’s all about making eggs on it now! It beats doing everything manually in the kitchen, with different pots creating more washing up, this is just quick, easy, and convenient. The only downside is he says the toaster is a bit small, but it’s still a great gadget for his uni life!🛍️ My honest thoughts, take them or leave them. Happy Shopping! 🛍️

Great breakfast toaster thing
I genuinely love this toaster! I've come back at the end of 2024 seeking a replacement as one of the control panel buttons is failing. I'm delighted that Tefal are still selling this. After 8 years or service, I'm happy to buy again.

Great features but slow toasting.
12 months on review.I really enjoyed using my Toast N Bean for about 6 months. The ability cook an egg at the same time was the most appealing feature and does work very well. I also used the toaster on many occasions to hard boil eggs to use in sandwiches for lunches which did work a treat and did save time boiling in a pan.I have since changed the toaster for 2 reasons. Firstly the toaster is very slow. I would say it takes nearly twice as long as a standard toaster. Secondly, the egg poaching pan lost its non stick coating after around 8 months and it became very difficult to clean.Overall I did enjoy this toaster and the egg cooking function I will miss, if you plan to use this predominantly as a toaster and tend to be in a rush in the morning, it may not be for you.

Very practical
It takes a bit more space than a normal toaster. But you can make some nice cooked eggs.
