Poor specimen
This specimen arrived in poor condition.Leaves were mainly brown and split.It died after only 6 weeks.Would not reccomend.

Initially unhappy with what was delivered. The plant had already discolored and as expected was dead within a week. Luckily, it had one small pup (shoot) which grew well with a lot of care and is just now (3 months later) exceeding the height of the stump that was delivered. I now have 2 new pups growing so hopeful the plant will now survive.

The plant I received looks a bit different than the one in the picture. It's probably another variety of banana plant, which wasn't a problem for me. Like some other reviewers said, it came with some damaged leaves, BUT it grows so quickly that you'll have new leaves in no time. Every two weeks or so you have a huge new leaf so you can just tear off the old ones, put the plant in a deeper pot (you'll need a bigger one anyway) and watch it grow.My plant also had 3 'babies' so even if the main plant turns out useless, you can grow other ones. I cut those 3 out to grow separately but they were without roots so I'm not sure they're gonna stay alive in the end, but very soon 3 new babies started growing from the stubs of the ones I'd cut out. So this is going to be quite a collection. If you have friends or family who'd like to own an unusual plant, all you have to do is buy one plant and soon you'll have many more of them - for free. You can grow a whole jungle out of this one specimen.It looks impressive, too, and it's gonna grow several feet tall. At this price it's the best deal ever. Just get a bigger pot, or a few while you're at it.
