Fantastic value Monopod
I first saw the Amazon Basics 170 cm (67 Inch) Monopod, Black and was tempted to buy it as it looked ideal for what I wanted and very reasonably priced. I didn't get round to purchasing it at the time but later saw it on offer for less than £15 so purchased it.It's certainly as good as I had expected and it's definitely great value. I only wanted to use it with an action camera for stability and it's perfect for the job, I especially like the quick release poles which allows you to quicky adjust the length and each pole firmly locks in place. This is much better than the mechanism on other cheap monopods/tripods where you have to twist the pole to lock it in place or have a round locking clip you have to twist. When extended, the pole is quite sturdy, the thinnest pole at the bottom is not quite as solid as the thicker ones above which is to be expected but it's still sturdy enough, unless you wanted to use it for pole vaulting or something. I do have a DSLR and I'm sure it would be fine mounted on this monopod It has a comfy foam grip which I noted other reviews suggested it wouldn't last long but it should last a long time if treated well. The pole comes with it's own bag which will help keep it safe and stop it getting scratched when not in use.The only thing I don't like about it is the fact it says 'Amazon Basics' down the side... I'm not a snob or anything and there's certainly nothing wrong with Amazon basics products but I'd rather it not be so prominent down the side of the pole. I haven't tried yet but I suspect some nail varnish remover would remove the branding and make it appear a more premium product. Anyway, this is trivial in any case but is the only negative in my opinion.Overall, it's a very good item and great value for the money, especially when it's on sale. For anyone using a monopod for the first time like myself, it's ideal.

Excellent
Great monopod strong, sturdy and very easy to use . Perfect if you don't want to lug a normal tripod around. Locks in place well and has great functionality , great for the price.

Cheap but decent
Given the price you can't expect too much but this is actually a decent monopod, easy to use and light. Not overly substantial so wouldn't cope with being used robustly bit excellent for beginners or as a back-up

Light weight and wonderful
Cheap it is yes but well made too, so far this is amazing, light weight and easy to set to the right height, the sections slide with ease, the section locks are strong and easy to use

Good Value
I bought a monopod, hoping that it would provide more stability, particularly when using a zoom lens, but be more flexible to use than a tripod. There is a quarter inch screw on the handle to attach the camera. This is standard fitting for many cameras, but worth checking if it's the right one for your model before buying. The camera is fixed in this landscape position hence the stability. With hindsight I should have bought a ball head bracket holder that would allow me to tilt the camera at different angles, giving further flexibility while holding the camera steady.Folded down the monopod measures 22 inches (56 cm) and extends to 67 inches (170 cm) which is my height, so might come in handy for seeing over crowds, a use I hadn't thought of when I bought it. It extends by opening three easily released clips, then secured at the desired height by closing them again. The handle is covered in a spongy material for a non-slip grip. There is a short wrist loop for extra security. A pointed metal end at the bottom of the monopod digs into soft surfaces. A rubberised ring above this can be released and secured around the point to provide a flat base for hard surfaces. A zipped nylon carry case is included. The monopod and case together are very light - they feel no heavier to carry than an umbrella. This is a good basic item. The only drawback is that is doesn't come with a ball head bracket but these can be bought separately and attached by the same standard quarter inch screw. For the price it does a good job of balancing the stability and flexibility for good photography. In answer to a question on Amazon Answers, I have added pictures to illustrate the different sized threads at each end of the monopod,

Poorly made carry case
Monopod was good, strong and well made, but carry case was rubbish and fell apart after 1 outing (see pic)...
