Does this crackle paste work on plastic surfaces?

Really not sure about this. I use it on canvas surfaces. And I think it would work well on wood too.

Can watercolour paint be used on this?

I used many different paints once the crackle surface was dry, including watercolour brush pens, inks, acrylics etcetera.

I suppose so. But to be honest, I had no luck with this stuff at all. I teach art classes and this medium just isn't worth the money.

Does this work on upholstery?

It works well on painting canvas. The thicker the application the bigger the crackling affect. It holds onto the surface of canvas with or without the paint. But is much more likely to stay attached with a layer of paint.
