Overall, for the $45 I spent on this watch, I feel like I won the watch lottery. It looks equally amazing in jeans and t-shirt as it does in my suit and tie when I go to work. It has an understated coolness/elegance to it. I definitely recommend this quality, reliable, beautiful Timex Expedition Scout 43mm as a daily wear watch or as an occasional wear in your collection rotation!I have an extensive watch collection (regular person watches, nothing "luxury" ... that's a laughable term for a watch, IMO). I have all categories of quartz watches; dive, pro dive, dress, casual, vintage/retro, knock-about, etc., with all bracelet/strap types and I was surprised that this watch has emerged as my absolute favorite of all of them. I think it is the perfect size (43mm wide and 11mm thick case) and the black coated brass case is gorgeous, lightweight, and durable. The main numbers and indices are large and very readable at a glance. Readability is further helped by the contrast between the black dial and the white number and indices. The dial includes an inner circle of smaller numbers that show military time, which is useful. The seconds hand has an orange tip, making it very easy to see against the background. The medium brown leather strap has beautiful contrast stitching and a case-matching black buckle, which I thick looks amazing. The leather seems to be good quality and I think it will look even better as it ages and becomes softer and wrinkled. There is no lume on the watch but it comes with Timex's excellent Indiglo lighting, which works just fine in the dark. The date window kind of blends in with all the numbers and indices but once you get used to where it sits on the dial, it's no problem to see.This watch looks SO MUCH BETTER in real life than in these photos. In fact, the case almost looks gray in the photos, but it's a very nice dark black color in real life. It has a mineral glass crystal, which is fine and expected for the price, but you could easily replace that with sapphire if you ever wanted to. The movement is a reliable Myota quartz movement.

Simple, elegant, comfortable. Keeps near-perfect time, the indiglo feature makes it easy to see at night, and it just feels great in the wrist.My favorite ‘weekender’ watch!

I am astounded by the durability of this watch, after 4 months of being perpetually soaked in salt water and slammed around, it has minor scratches and paint peeling. No major damage. Very good watch. 10/10

I went back and forth between buying the black and white face version of this watch. Decided to go with the black, and I'm glad I did. The watch has a very distinctive look, much like airplane instruments. The Indiglo effect is a little dark compared to the white face watches, but I expected that. What I didn't expect is that there is a total lack of lume. This was a surprise because the large type at the top of the item description says "INDIGLO backlight and luminous hands". I tried exposing the watch to sunlight and then bringing it to a dark room, and nothing shows. I thought it would be nice to have a watch that was readable in the dark without pushing a button, but this isn't it.The other disappointment was the strap, which is very stiff leather. I found it very uncomfortable and ordered a NATO strap after wearing this one for about a half hour. It would probably break in but I don't want to do the work - actually, I was going to put it on a NATO anyway.After all this complaining, why did I give the watch four stars? I've had it on my wrist for a couple of hours now (I'm wearing it with a metal mesh band on it while I wait for the NATO to arrive) and every time I look at it I smile. It's exactly what I wanted, well-executed, and other than the lack of lume I'm really happy with the look. I have many watches but I think this will be one of my favorites. I'll just wear a different one in the dark.

I am not a watch collector or anything remotely resembling someone who is a watch specialist. I am just someone who loved watches as a kid and realized how much I missed owning one.I saw this blue faced version (TW4B329009J) with the green canvas strap and I just loved the colors. There were so many choices and price points but I kept coming back to this one specifically, over and over again. Here is why:This watch’s navy blue face plate, bright red second hand, brushed metal titanium case and easy to read face, looks great! The price is extremely affordable and it was on sale for 37 dollars when I bought it.Some people point out that it is loud when it’s quiet in a room but I personally like the sound and usually only here it if everyone is asleep.I would love to see this particular model with a 43mm diameter as opposed to a 40mm diameter.The watch was easy to setup and has been telling time flawlessly. For the price this watch feels solid and looks stylish. I would highly recommend it!
