Q: Do you need to water down normal indoor house paint ?

You might need to. Like every other spray gun it works better at a certain consistency. It comes with a simple but clever checker. It's a small measuring jug with a hole in the bottom that clips onto your paint tin. You pour an amount into it and time how long it takes to empty out the bottom (a viscosity meter) If a certain paint should take 30 secs to empty (they give you guidelines) but your paint is taking 45 secs then you just thin it down a bit with water/thinners/turps/whatever. I'ts so simple,

Q: I need to paint a rendered house with masonry paint, 2 coats of dulux weathershield. Would this cope? ld

I've only used it with Ronseal 'One Coat' fence protector which is quite thick and it copes fine. Weathershield might be a bit too thick but I'm not sure. You could dilute it with water 1 : 10 for the first coat and see what happens. It certainly speeds the job up - especially if you are covering large flat areas like walls. I used mine to spray cedar shingles and it gave a beautiful finish.

Q: has anyone tried this with masonry paint? how did it do?

yes we have used masonry paint on our house. but you need to thin it about 50/50 and give it two coats hope this helps

Yes I have used this sprayer gun with the mentioned fence paint across 30 fence panels, without any issues. I didn’t dilute. Hope that helps
