It all depends on the physique..if boy is tall then I would go for medium...but for a small 12yr old small is fine.

What size for a 15 year old - XL?

Xlarge turned out to be too big for my 15 year old, who is well built and not too thin. I guess it would fit waist size 34cm. Im returning it and hoping 'large boys' would be a fit. The material is great cotton.
