Tops Knives TPELCH03: El Chete Midnight Bronze

Tough chopper! Absolutely love it. It's a beast. I like the sheath as well. Only small negative is button on sheath retention strap is VERY difficult to unbutton. With that said, you don't have to unbutton the strap to remove or resheath the El Chete. Arrived in perfect condition. Great price for a very high quality USA made gigantic knife. Very sharp out of the box. Finish looks great, very sharp looking. Perfectly weighted, feels great in the hand. I'm always looking for my next, best chopper. Usually lean towards cane knives. This blows away every other chopper/machete/cane knife I've had previously. I usually don't leave reviews so I hope this helps someone.

This is a BEAST of a chopper. I use this for my home utility usage. The weight take a little getting used to. The weight is a great advantage to chopping. Tops knives are known for their innovations and utility ability.

Okay this cuts like a machete but with the short size compared to other machetes it is only useful for branches at shoulder to waist level. If you need to cut closer to the ground your back will be hurting after a while so buy a machete instead. The edge took a beating on the first go round. I know a hit a few rocks but the blade looks like just about every cut nicked it. The metal is soft like a machete so it sharpened up fairly fast with a file or rough stone. Nicks not included in the sharpening. Its weight at about hefty. As you would expect its blade heavy so not balanced like a knife. But you cannot rely on the weight to do the job force is still required. Its built like a tank at this point without the moving parts. As for the cost if your looking for something that is mean looking and threatening then maybe (think "NOW THATS A KNIFE" from a particular movie) but if you are looking for a tool to use everyday cutting go buy 10 machetes that's the price difference +$200 plus vs +$20. So value for the money pass of this.

This thing is huge. My husband loves it. It's silly but boys will be boys he now switches out his couch tomahawk with this massive thing. (Meaning he has it sitting next to him on the couch. Does anyone else's husband do this or is it just mine?) Anyways it's stupid big and perfect for my husband to annoy me with ;) anyways it was live at 1st sight for this bad boy and the husband so it's a keeper and win. Buy it for him! Or yourself whatever just get it! Lol

Well constructed. Comfortable handle.Nice weight. Easy to swing . Great for around the home and camp site. Cuts thru grass and smaller limbs.

Got this from my husband for an early birthday present and he loves it. I already went shopping on some bushes.
