We used to have a few chickens in our back garden and although we enjoyed the time we had them, they successfully managed to decimate the lawned area of our garden. It also took us a long time to scrape up the bark chip on which the chicken enclosure stood. But we found that the grass in that area never really grew again properly, despite re-turfing it some 3 years ago.As we now have cats, we've always been reluctant to use any lawn-feed type product which says that animals have to be excluded from treated areas, so on a whim, I purchased this product and treated the worst areas of the lawn earlier this year. To our shock and surprise, the lawn area that we treated is now lush and green for the first time in years, so much so that it made the section we hadn't treated look bad!! We then had to come back and buy some more for the rest of the lawn.The instructions on the packet suggests that this product is not so effective if it is used in drought conditions (which can hardly be said for this summer!) but we did give the lawn a light watering after the first treatment. In our opinion, it works just as well to treat small bare patches as it has done on our entire (albeit not very large) garden lawn. So we are certainly impressed.

The description provided on Amazon suggests the product includes grass seed, however, the packaging omits any mention of added seed which suggests the manufacturer has altered the formulation. The combination of poor original product and Amazon delivery packaging means you have to collect together the spilt contents within the package or risk losing a significant quantity of the product. All that said, it does work well, although significantly more slowly than suggested so a degree of patience is essential!

I dont use a week killer in with my lawn feed - over years the week killer built up mats of dead moss beneath the surface that needed to be removed by hand.This product is excellent - greens up the grass in no time and keeps it healthy - and I am enjoying the daisies and clover that now grow in it now I no longer use week killer

Most was lost when I opened the packaging due to the box being unsealed. But, the product is good.

Easy to apply, pet friendly as we have Guinea Pigs and quick results. Went from a weedy patchy lawn to a lush green lawn with no patches in 3 weeks.

I've applied this a couple of times to my small lawn (in both cases, just a few hours before we had rain) and it seems to work effectively. The grass is thicker and greener than it was and seems to be standing up well to the recent drought.

So this was delivered and I left in the hallway by the shoe rack and since then everyone I came downstairs I got this awful whiff and blamed it on my daughters trainers!!. It wasn't until I opened the box to use it that i realised it was this !!My god it smells awful.So I sprinkled it on the lawn and the dog started to eat it as it smelt great to him.So after putting him indoors I then hosed down and he left it alone.2 weeks later I can now see a lot of dark green grass shooting up in my otherwise patchy dog peed lawn as per the photo.I haven't given it 5 stars because of the smell. Trust me it's bad.

This does not prevent weeds. It actually caused weeds to grow at a rapid rate!
