Reading the product description, I thought this as a hand grater, and a hand shredder, made from thai coconuts. Upon receiving my order, I immediately unpacked it and went about trying to grate my hand. Please note that my hand is reasonably large, and the grating implement is small. Also, being that my hand is quite calloused from other more disappointing hand graters, it took quite some time to get down to through the first few layers of skin. Nevertheless, the grater eventually did its job....So. I moved on to the hand shredder (or so I thought). While the grater was able to eventually do what I expected, the shredder just never did shred my other hand. It kind of lacerated it (with enough force), and I have a bruise where a large glass bowl fell on my hand while I was vigorously shredding (and shaking the cabinets). But no shredding. I guess for hand shredding I'll just have to fall back to the garbage disposal....I thought maybe I was doing something wrong, so I tried contacting the company. After explaining my predicament, they forwarded me to a psychiatric hotline. Not only did the hotline operator not speak English very well, they also had no idea how I should use these tools to shred my hand, nor were they able to confirm that said implements were actually made out of Thai coconuts....Finally I gave up and came back to the product description, and realized my error. I bandaged my hands, found a coconut (I'm not sure if it was a Thai coconut), and successfully grated and then shredded it. These implements work very well when you use them properly.

This is exactly the same as the one I had but somehow it was misplaced when someone other than myself was cleaning up the kitchen. Easy to use, sharp and lasts a long time. I had the last one for about 10 years with no issues.

When I received this tool, the metal grater had finger prints all over it. Of course I washed it but that was a big negative. Then the first time I used the the grater, it bent and although I bent it back, it is thin and can't stand up to scraping. The loop end is stronger and hasn't bent yet. I would not recommend this to anyone and it's true...you get what you pay for.

Worked well despite the medal part being a little flimsy. Did not put too much pressure as it will bend so I ended up reinforcing and holding with my fingers as I was scraping.

This is the best designed tool for peeling veggies that I have ever used! It is strong enough for peeling veggies with tough skin like sweet potatoes! It is easy and safe to use!

Easy to use to scoop the coconut meat. It's a must have if you drink and eat coconut meat.

The metal is a little flimsy. As I was using it I noticed it was bending out of shape. The biggest drawback, however, is that the stain on the wood comes off all over your hand and on the coconut as well if it touches the coconut. I'm giving it three stars because it is fine for the price. But if you plan on shredding a lot of coconut, find something better made
