My favourite hair tool
I have never been any good at hair styling and in all my years I’ve hardly gained any skill (I am nearly 50). This hair tool has a knack to it and you may hate it if you don't take the time to get familiar with it. I went on youtube and I'm getting the hang of it now so I would say that it's very easy to use with a little instruction for people like myself. It was not cheap but I consider it good value as the quality is obviously very high and I find it's usually far better value to buy quality rather than have to keep replacing things. It heats in seconds and is very simple with just the one button. It gives my stubbornly flat hair some oomph and it lasts in my hair which usually refuses to hold a curl, especially heat curls and I've tried everything. I also get softer hair with a lovely shine. I can use it just to quickly smooth out kinked bits to look more presentable, or go fully wavy. It's fab, even with meagre skills.I have other ghd tools as well as other hair tools but...If I could take only one hair thingy on holiday, I would pick this.

Love it
I have quite unruly hair. I've got a airwrap which creates frizz and doesnt hold the curls, ive tried shark and other brands and this is hands down the best. I had a dupe of this before and its so worth getting this it gives such a lovely blowout look that lasts if you use hairspray afterwards. I use this just to tame my bangs and to smooth out my hair as well. Heats up in about 20 seconds and only takes 15-20 mins to style my hair and I have lonf thick hair and section it three times, plus its universal voltage to take abroad. Now just to find a hairdryer that calms the frizz (not dyson, babyliss or shark) and im all set.

DANGER Risk of this Ghd riser snapping in half mid use. Risk of burning & electrocution
DANGEROUSI was using this Ghd Riser as it was intended to be used- mid use, while the Ghd riser was in my hair, it began to crack and come apart in my hands, exposing internal wires.I immediately contacted Ghd. I provided photos and serial numbers.GHD refused to check the serial number of this Ghd Riser. On 29th February 2024, another customer on this Amazon reviews website - Elizabeth Teasdale- had their GHD Riser snap in half also whilst they used this product.I purchased my GHD Riser on 03.04.2025.The response from GHD is concerning.I was using the Ghd riser as it was marketed to be used. While the GHD was in my hair it snapped in half.GHD state that this is considered “accidental”.I don’t understand how using the GHd Riser in the way it is intended to be used can be called “Accidental”Clearly this is a dangerous fault of the Ghd riser.Ghd stated that this has never happened before as their testing is flawless.Clearly this is not the case. As in the Amazon reviews, another customer was exposed to the same danger as myself, whilst using the Ghd as it was marketed to be used, the Ghd snapped in half mid use.I would be interested to know if both my Ghd riser and Elizabeth Teasdels have the same serial number and are from a faulty batch.I am concerned at the refusal of Ghd to even look into the serial number as if it has happened to myself and Elizabeth Teasdale, there is the potential for it to happen to others. This Ghd riser is clearly not safe or fit for purpose. The Ghd riser snapped in half while it was in my hair. I am aware that with exposed wires there was a real risk of electrocution and a risk of being burnt.I have not received an apology from GHD re this.I bought this Ghd in good faith.I used the Ghd as it has been marketed to be used.I don’t understand how it can be deemed “accidental” as the Ghd snapped in half whilst in my hair.I’ve used Ghd stylers over the years and I’ve not had this happen before.I bought this Ghd as Ghd has a good name.I’ve been told that what I describe happened is classified as “accidental use”GHD cannot explain to me how using the GHD Riser as it is marketed to be used is now classified as accidental useIt is only Thanks to Amazon that I received a refund. The customer service from Amazon is excellent. In comparison GHD who manufactured the product reuses to even check the serial number of thisFaulty ghd. There was no concern or apology at the risk I was exposed to, havinf the product snap in half whilst still plugged in, I am Thankful I was not burnt or electrocuted.

Excellent hair tool
I love this hair tool. I use it to create a variety of styles. I can get a big bouncy blowdry, poker straight hair Or loose curls. It can create flicks and a soft turned under look.It Is meant for height and volume and it does that perfectly. To create various styles Kolmar I watched GHD videos on YouTube. These tutorials teach you all the ways of using this brush. I also love to use it on second day hair To straighten. It is very simple to use. The heat button heats up very quickly and beeps when ready. There is a swivel cord to save getting tied up.The brush itself is sturdy and, like all GHD products, seems very robust and well made. Another feature is that your hair doesn’t tangle in it like previous hot brushes I have used. The style lasts all day too.Excellent product, I highly recommend it.

Professional piece of kit!!
Yes the price is high. That is my only stumbling block with this hot brush. It isn’t like your average hot brush, the design is very practical, heats up almost instantly and really performs well. Curls don’t drop out after just a short while, the heat manages to make the style last. I haven’t had any issues with burning my skin or fingers, just a bit of common sense when using anything that gets hot!! Hasn’t tangled in my hair like some I’ve used in the past and a few months down the line, used almost daily and not showing any sign of wear n tear and performs just as well as when I first used it! In short - you get what you pay for and this is a really special addition to my hair styling kit!
