Do I need to put a lid on before using a cover?

No, the cover comes with metal rods that go in the top. In the shape of an “X”. It holds the middle of the cover up without sagging. Works good too.

Does this fit the biggest solostove ?

This cover is 22 inches in diameter; not sue of the diameter of the largest solo stove but if it’s 22 inches in diameter or less this cover will fit.

Do you need to wait until the firepit cools down completely, before you can put the cover on?

We do the same with the stove as we do with our gas grill: wait until almost cool. Warm to the touch is ok.

Is the listed yukon 27” version for the new yukon? the manufacturer site shows a much different cover for the yukon there.

The newest Yukon version is 27". The legacy Yukon is 30" and mo longer produced.
