A good book for fans of Violet Evergarden's lore and detail, but not an art book
Violet Evergarden Chronicle [official fan book] is definitely a great buy as a gift or a personal display item for anyone that is a huge fan of the KyoAni show Violet Evergarden that is on Netflix. However, while this is a good fan book with background information, interviews, and some art, it is NOT for you if you are looking for a book that features oversized color drawings or keyframe art from the show. Most of the images and art are rather small. You would be better off purchasing one of KyoAni's key frame art books or their "Creator's Message Book," which focus on black and white concept and key frame art.The book is softcover with a detachable wraparound cover that has a mild gloss. It arrived sealed in a plastic slipcover. Counting the index, it is 107 pages. The book focuses mostly on character art, bios, and background design information and "lore" regarding the location and characters that KyoAni adapted for the show from the Light Novel. (For example, you can read about how the Kingdom of Fluegel featured in one episode is known for its forestry.) The more in-depth sections feature interviews people like the key staff and the artist behind the opening song and so forth. If you can read Japanese the book is all the better and complements the artwork showcased well. The paper weight is good allows the artwork featured to look great, though the images are often collected in mosaic tiles that are rather small, which is a bit disappointing. However, I will note that I paid double the list price on the back of 2500 JP Yen for the book. Because of the cost of purchasing the book, I would recommend it only for big fans of Violet Evergarden who really would appreciate having a physical item with information from the show.

An excellent product (taking the costs aside)
Arrived in good conditions - well sealed, no apparent damage - and within the estimated time. Although staggeringly expensive (I had to pay triple the original price - taxes and transport fees to Europe included), it is a very high quality product (paper, resolution, visuals) and totally worth for avid fans to buy.Note: it is a fan book (not a art book) so what the book covers is information about characters and places from the anime, accompanied by beautiful images, alongside other aspects, all in Japanese, of course.
