Great alternative to a pet
This cat is great for small kids that want a pet but you don’t! The cat takes a few steps, stands up, does press ups (bit of a strange one) and makes lots of sounds although one of them does sound more like a bark. Works by patting on the head but also seems to go off it you make a loud sound near by. Battery life seems good, bought as a Christmas present and still going strong end of Feb. It’s fun and pretty realistic. I would recommend for younger children!

cute to look at and hilarious
I'm so sorry, wrote a terrible review before I found a hidden place to unscrew compartment with batteries. Now it works great! Bought to teach a dog to "leave" a real ginger cat shortly arriving. I am using the clicker method to teach him "leave" the cat alone. It is great as a temptation! Suggest other dog trainers could try. Bet the manufacturers never thought it would be used for this purpose!

A cute cat and it holding up well thus far.
This is a very cute toy and seems to be well made. It makes a few different moves, such as going up on its back legs or bending down.It makes plenty of meow sounds and also purrs a few times too during its sequences. I think I heard it make a bark sound too at some point so bit random.I think it's pretty well made as far as the motor and mechanism is concerned too. It appears to have a hard stop / limit sensing capability so if you jam the legs they will stop straining to move and reverse. This is good if your little one fancies cuddling it which will be a real probability. As a comparison we have a small dog which is similar from a different brand and if you jam this one during its moves you actually hear the motor strain and the cogs slipping. We killed one this far...well our little one did :)This cat seems to be noise sensing. They suggest patting the cat on the back near the tail but I do not feel any button there to activate. You need to pat fairly hard to activate and if you drop a cup on the table it will also activate the cat. I've also tried clapping near the cat and this too will set it off.As for looks, it does look pretty good (especially to a two and half year old of course) but out one has a wonky nose since its not been stuck on very well.Bar that, the whiskers are virtually invisible and perhaps the tail a little short for a cat but again, for a little child these are not really issues. We have already been through a set of 4 x AA batteries although admittedly these were cheap high street versions in about a week of daily play.Overall, very good for the money and only really a star off due to the wonky nose which suggests a bit slap dash on the production.

Robotic kitten
Bigger and nicer than I expected . My two cats at first ran off as the purr is more like a roar . However they are now on the second day coming nearer .Hopefully they will interact more .Robotic kitty is quite funny to watch .

Really cute
My daughter loves this cat toy. It has been working fine so far since Xmas. It does what is says on the box. Also, the meow noice comes only if you touch/tickle the cat. You can turn it off as well if you want to, no need to take the batteries out.
