BUT I MADE A HUGE MISTAKE..DON'T LET IT HAPPEN TO YOU!!! This product is ONLY for a person wanting a TINY root touch up and on a fairly small head!! Luckily I was planning on mixing this color with 4.28 which they call Auburn Brown but it's really a HOT RED color on gray hairs!! Which for me are my roots. I have long hair. So by mixing these together I am hoping I will remove the HOT RED from 4.28 and give my entire head of hair a warm dark brown with a red undertone. I am processing this as I write. SO I am not sure how it will turn out. REMEMBER THIS PRODUCT is ONLY for the roots. Don't be dumb like me.

I actually decided not to use this because it looks a little too dark for my hair. I was excited to see if it had good coverage for gray hair, but mine are throughout the entire hair not just at the roots. It does come with a brush, but I’ve used other hair coloring where the brush is part of the applicator which is a whole lot easier than having to put the dye in and then go back and brush it afterwards, but I could also see where that might help get it more on the roots if you color your hair a lot. There’s a pre-color serum but no after color conditioner that comes with it so make sure you have a good shampoo and conditioner of your own. Do you like that? It does all the work in 10 minutes which is half the time the most coloring. Hopefully I can find someone else to use it.

It doesn’t say if this is ammonia free like the regular hair color. I’ve never had trouble with the hair color but this made my head itch and burn.

I have used this brand of hair color before and was interested to try it as the root touch up. The kit is very professional, comes with decent black gloves, a small brush that doubles as a way to part your hair, and the chemicals.The instructions tell you to leave this on your roots for 10 minutes. I have very stubborn grays and normally leave my color on for 30+ minutes. But, I went with the instructions and let it go a bit longer - around 15 minutes. While the color did work, it did not completely cover my stubborn grays. Overall, I do really like this kit and would buy it again. But I would leave the color on longer to make sure it covered the grays completely. Also, this was a 6.0 kit and I usually use a 5 or 5.5 and this matched just fine.

This black dye started changing my former bleach blonde gone red hair to black in the matter of a few minutes! I was shocked. After a week it still looks like I just dyed it.
