Q: I have a technics sl-1200 is this all i need or do i still need an amp?

You can't go from turntable to this amp to speakers - you'll either need to run this to a receiver or to a pair of powered speakers that have volume control. Main point being that this amp doesn't have any kind of volmume control or traditional speaker out connections. I ran my TT into this amp and then connected it to a Kanto YU4 powered speaker/subwoofer combo.

It’s very nice and warm as you’d expect from a tube amp. Nice thing is, you can find other compatible tubes for this unit (read the notes on compatibility of tubes first before buying new tubes). Different tube manufacturers will have different sound qualities and profiles. It’s great to experiment!!!

The Fosi is a PHONOGRAPH PREAMP. It is designed to go between your phonograph turntable and an amplifier that lacks a phono stage. All it does is boost the output of a magnetic phono cartridge (MM) to line level and apply the required RIAA equalization to that signal. It will work for moving magnet cartridges, moving iron (also called variable reluctance) cartridges, and high-output moving coil cartridges. It does not, however, produce enough gain for low-output moving coil cartridges. It cannot be connected to your TV’s headphone output Jack. It is ONLY for turntables.

Verified it does provide RIAA equalization. It's a legit phono preamp, as advertised.
