Thumbs up from me
Despite the negative reviews, I still went ahead and ordered some of these and I am really pleased that I have. I got the variery box, which states 2 of 6 flavours each, and that is what I got. It would have been nice to have one of each and then double up to fill, but hey.I like the texture and don't find it dry at all, they need a decent bit of chewing, so I can't scoff this fast like chocolate, which is a good thing. Sometimes, I can only eat half a bar and I will save the other half for another day. Sometimes it is the entire bar, just depends on how hungry I am.They are sweet, but not overly for me. They travel well and survive a good bashing about in my handbag as there is no coating to break and then crumble into your lap. Nice flavours too I have to say, so, if the variety box becomes available again, I would deffo order, and the cost was amazing. I think if you have not had a 'raw' bar before, maybe that could be a bit 'oh er' for you, but I have therefore it was not and I love these.Update, variety box available again....order placed!

They're protein flapjacks
took one star off for being a protein bar thats also high in carbs (34 grams per bar) and comes in at a whopping 259 calories per bar (honey berry flavour). Its also a bit sweet for my liking, no berry flavour come through just honey which is ok because i like that flavour which is why i chose it. pair this one with a black coffee or plain green tea and it will mitigate the sweetness. I dont understand all the negative reviews on the bar being very dry, have you all ever had a flapjack before? its mostly oats so its not going to be sopping wet ! I didnt have any issues with the consistency at all, not overly drying. I do take into account this is my first order, but I may buy again if im in the market and wanting a good deal for a protein bar. So far i ate it a half hour ago, seems satiating so far, and actually the benefits of having carbs is it actually may fill me up longer, will get back to you on that. (currently on a weight loss journey but not overly fussed on carbs or macros just trying to get in the protein). Also, seems to have less inconspicuous ingredients than some other popular brands so as a health concious consumer, that appeals to me.

Many reviews don’t mention this but no palm or rapeseed oil is a big +
Long story short: I bought these at £9 for 12. At that price, it’s great. I would say though. If they’re above £14, look at the other options (I’d personally pick grenade but ON or huel are good, if they’re at similar prices or even lower than these bars)Got the cookies and cream flavour. They taste decent for a flapjack. I’d say I’d still prefer the taste and texture of a grenade bar but for not having any palm or rapeseed oil is defo a plus. Has got vegetable oil but it is also half the price of most of the Grenada bars. It’s essentially a slightly cookies and cream tasting flapjack with a very slight stingy aftertaste (good sting though). Size is decent. It’s more dense than something like a grenade bar. Has slightly higher sugar but I’d say it helps it. Fibre is good, about 7.2g. Not too high in sugars. I’ve definitely seen bars with more but then again not on the grenade level of about 2, this has 3g.Overall, I’d say most reviews are too harsh on it since they’re expecting a more traditional protein bar (think your PHDsmart’s, Grenades and optimum nutrition) and it’s not as ‘chocolatey’ as those but still tastes good and I would give it 4.5 stars and rounds to 5

Good price, but rather like compressed sawdust!
These are just about edible, and they have just over 20g of protein per bar, but you certainly need a drink with them! Very dry, rather like compressed sawdust, and the flavour is far from strong. The carbohydrate level is higher than I would prefer, as is the sugar, but it is not too bad.I love flapjacks, but do not normally eat them due to the nutritional issues. I was hoping that these might be a way around that, but it seems not. I will probably eat the rest armed with a drink rather than waste the money, but I seriously doubt that I will purchase them again. There seems to be a dearth of decent protein bars these days, with all the manufacturers seeming to go down the same road of moving away from the old style bars and into these new flavours and styles which appear to me to be universally poor alternatives to what went before. There are so many things labelled 'protein' these days, from crisps to mars bars, and you have to be really careful as a lot of them are nutritionally very poor.Maybe some people will like these flapjacks, but you would probably have to pay me handsomely before I would buy any more and certainly before I would eat them...

Avoid - has sweetener additives - bleurgh
These bars would be ideal for me if it wasn’t for the added sweetener which has no nutritional benefit and (depending on what science you trust) can have some quite serious side effects. Why sweetener is added to any food at all is beyond me but in a bar like this one which could be rated as 4 stars, it’s a total waste.Food producers: if we want something sweet, we can add sugar. We’re not dumb - we know what makes food sweet so can handle that part of it ourselves. If we want something that’s low / no sugar that means we don’t want anything sweet. Adding sweetener is just complete muppetry. The bar gets 1 star because the protein content is good and that’s why I would buy them - but only when the flipping sweetener is removed.
