Is this a thick rug? Would it be good for dampening sound?

it really isn't that thick. But with a carpet pad underneath which you always need anyway to keep it in place, should dampen sound well

What is the rug made of?

The product description says it's made of polypropylene fibers. It doesn't look artificial tho, and it feels soft underfoot.

Is this rug sprayed with chemicals ?

I’m not sure, but unfortunately in my experience, most rugs are. They usually have a funny odor when you first open them that dissipates after a while.

Won't lay flat - round and wavy around the edges, Help?

Mine took about 4-5 weeks to actually lay flat. It’s perfect now. I recommend using some rug tape, but I have hardwood floors, so not sure how good it lays on carpet. Good luck.
