Small for my hand but works well.
Weird tool but works great for carrots and potatoes when making soup.

Tiny bits. . .
Okay, here's the deal, I like carrots, and I like to work them into my mealsin a convenient non intrusive way. Ie.. a lot of carrot in little tiny shreds.I can use a Nakari knife and work them down, but GEEZ takes too long! (Carrots are dang well tough)So I went on quest of sorts, how many times could I make UPS show up at my house within the same week; lol, and this was one of the products I tried of four.MIU France Stainless Steel Swiss Peeler, Julienne Bladehttp://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B004ISKZYQ/ref=oh_details_o00_s00_i01?ie=UTF8&psc=1Ultra Sharp Julienne Peeler & Vegetable Peeler - Precision Kitchenwarehttp://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00FF75XG4/ref=oh_details_o00_s00_i00?ie=UTF8&psc=1&Brieftons Spiral Slicer (I used and left a review of this product)http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00CBVCVLM/ref=oh_details_o02_s00_i01?ie=UTF8&psc=1Now, this is the SECOND product I have used, in my attempt to get carrots into shreds. Ultra Sharp above and MIU France I still have in the packaging. I am going to keep them around just in case.Anyways, this oxo worked so well, I actually smiled when I first used it, especially after my frustrating nightmare experience with that Spiral Slicer. The oxo Julienne peeler has worked as intended, I didn't apply much pressure at all, the blade was really sharp and dug into the carrot, going long ways obviously, with no issues what so ever, and it shredded what I sliced with no issues. Now because of the way things work.. the very top tip portion that I cut off the carrot, was not shredded, but it was a very small section and actually worked in my favor. Little carrot strands didn't end up everywhere.I had tried a regular Oxo peeler in the past on whim, and I've had it for years now literally, and its always worked great, so that led me to give this product a shot. And it didn't disappoint. (Another reviewer mentioned how companies would change manufactures/suppliers, so keep this in mind)One thing I wanted to mention that you might want to be on guard about, are the teeth for this food tool are very thin. They are about 8th of an inch distance wide.STRONG ADVICE: So like a knife you that was sharp and you wanted to keep it that way, you need to clear a space out in your kitchen somewhere for this tool, because I can only imagine if you bent the teeth on this thing or dull it by abuse, that'll be all she wrote on functional tool. And it looks like it would be easy to do. So just a heads up.

Sharp and effective
I use this for making zoodles and for cutting up veggies for spring rolls. I like the size of the slices and how easy it is to use. The only downside is that it's not always easy to clean the edges even if you rinse right after using. Very sharp, be careful when using.

Perfect for cutting carrots and cucumbers
I do lots of salads at my house and I've been looking for a quicker solution for cutting veggies in a julienne cut. I tried this on carrots, cucumbers, and zucchini and it worked very well leaving little waste. I did try this on a lemon (to see if I could get a strip for a cocktail) and it 100% did not work, I cut my hand lol. Only use on firm veggies! Make sure you grip the veggie and pull away from you for safety. I wouldn't recommend children use this tool, it's tricky for little ones. Pretty easy to clean and this definitely saves me time in the kitchen. Much safer than a mandoline slicer and wayyy cheaper/easier than a food processor. Overall, I highly recommend it!

Works, kind of
This peeler will make strips from whatever you peel. However, once your vegetable gets to a certain thinness it'll peel 3/4ths of the way down and then "break" off the last bit of the strip, which will be stuck in the blade requiring you to break that part off of the peeler by hand. You'll also be left with 10-20% of every vegetable that couldn't be peeled. It's still probably easier and quicker to use than most cheap spiralizers, so if you don't mind using a tool that's not particularly efficient and is a bit finnicky, this should do the trick.I use it primarily to make carrot and zucchini noodles. Stir-fry the carrot strips for a few minutes, then add the zucchini for a few more, and you'll end up with something approximating spaghetti or soba style noodles.

Easy Way to Make Perfect Thin Slices
This gadget is easy to use and makes nice long, thin julienned slices of carrot. Much more convenient than getting out the food processor when I’m making a small quantity.
