Expensive but good.
These heat logs are very good and far superior to the other 2 makes of log I've recently purchased through Amazon. Sadly, they are also more than 50% more expensive, made significantly worse because the price has increased by roughly £5/box in the past 4 weeks. That said, in my experience, they produce significantly less smoke than the other 2 products, so much less soot gets given off. They catch fire more easily, produce huge amounts of heat and produce very little ash.I burn these logs in a Fire Pit, so I do NOT want the clouds of smoke the other logs produce and because these produce so little ash, it's much easier to clean-up the following day.Summary:By far the best heat log currently available from Amazon. They give you a significantly better result so in my opinion, it's worth paying the premium price. Easy to light, significantly more heat and far less smoke and residual ash.

Good heat output
One lasted for an evening, they massively swell once burning so would split in half next time. Really slow but hot fire once burning, still expensive though roughly £3.30 per log whereas a bag of smokeless anthracite would last us 3 days at £5.40 a bag these would cost £9.90 for the same burning time, big difference but want to be as eco friendly as I can, so keep searching for best cost effective and eco fuel

Quality, Value, Good Customer Service
I've tried these a few times now, and really like them. They burn hot with little smoke or ash for about the same length of time as a similar sized log, and are a great addition to get a fire going. They're not cheap, but are good value, and a box will last a while. You should consider tapping them to split into smaller lengths, as they expand to burn with a high surface area, so if you put a whole one in a log burner it'll probably hit the sides, plus a a whole one will be more than you need.An extra star for customer service - an order of two boxes got split up by the couriers, and only one arrived. Prompt replies from the vendor, and when it was clear the other was lost in the system, a replacement was delivered the next day.

A different fuel
I have only tried one so far. It is a very different experience from logs or the other cheaper heat logs I had tried and I think needs more experience for me to get the best of them, but they do burn well, hot and with minimal ash. My chimney is of minimal height and I have been packing the grate out with fire bricks as it is large for the room and chimney, hence more experimenting needed. This fuel doesn’t have twinkly yellow flames (in my cassette fire) which I suspect means they are better for the environment as they are not sending up as many nano particles of glowing unburnt carbon. If new regulations are to be brought in on using wood burners, as being reported, then this difference should be allowed for to encourage best practice, just as the old smokeless zones in the 1960s allowed the use of smokeless fuel but not coal.

Good logs but need some help
They were good and burned slowly but with a very small flame - almost smouldering - which is not great for a fireplace as it's about visuals as much as anything. But when I added some of the briquettes from same firm the heat increased and everything burned with a great flame and heat. Not sure about burn time - our fireplace is quite wide so we went though 18 logs in 6 hours comfortably.

A lit fire first time, every time
Forget about newspaper and kindling, these logs are so much easier and cleaner to use. Together with natural firelighters you'll never have to try and light your fire more than once. Wish I'd known about them when they first came out. Exceptionally good value for money. Only use one section of log per fire - each log breaks down into a number of pieces - you really don't need more than that - and your box of logs will last for quite a long time. There's no dampness or smell, so they can be kept in the bottom of a cupboard.

Great product
We have two woodburners and have used kiln dried hardwood for many years.Recently tried these. Took us a couple of goes to get the air vent setting on the burners right for the best burn. But now love these. Very easy to use. Very long burn - one can last us a whole evening. Good level of heat. Have just ordered more.Marked them down 1 star for being bagged in plastic.

These kick out some Heat
Bought these because my Wife can't be bothered with the faff of starting a more traditional fire in the woodburner, but she will sit and complain about being a bit chilly, and comments I read say they are easy to light. Well having now burnt the one a little preparation for her should change that. We have a little woodburner and these are quite big but easy to break up. Once they lit and underway boy do they kick out some heat, I was a tad concerned as the cast iron body of the burner was ticking as the metal warmed up, but checking the thermometer within 20-30 minutes the burner was running in the optimum range that would normally take over an hour to achieve with traditional kindling and logs - and it held that heat for quite a while.I have been lucky enough to have friends "gift me" their suitable trees that they have taken down, so free wood, my family are quite happy to run my £20 notes through the radiators - but not fire up a free fire. Hopefully these will assist in breaking that habit and encourage them to learn the ways of the fire and not turn the thermostat up another couple of clicks.
