According to the seller, you can't return this product.
Amazon stated that the reason seller wouldn't accept return was because "Hazardous materials, flammable liquids or gases cannot be returned". These exceptions do not appear anywhere on the product page. Not to mention, they sent it to me, so why can't I send it back via the same shipping method? The product itself is fine. A couple of generations old, and it has quirks, but it gets the job done. My issue is with the seller. So if you're interested in the product, make sure you really want it because you can't return it.

Non existent customer service
My drive came missing the special lightning cable to connect the Lacie to my iPad or iPhone. This was a much-wanted and requested birthday gift for myself. I am a photographer, I travel a fair amount, and this product had favorable reviews for a means for field backup of images without the need to carry a laptop, especially useful in areas with no internet.Since I cannot use it, and can't get any help, I cannot tell you if it works to meet my needs. This is a minus 5 review. But, I called Lacie yesterday, and waited on hold for over 20 minutes. I didn't have time to continue to wait, so I hung up and called again, this time opting to use the supposedly not so fast and not so speedy "text with a live customer service agent" feature. This was the worst customer service experience I have ever had in my sixty plus years. I explained to Alexandra early on in the text conversation that this drive was a gift, and is simply missing the correct lightning cable, but instead was [robably accidentally packed with two other phone type cables that look to be identical, rather than one of each cable type, and I only needed to get this custom looking Lacie cable in order to utilize my $302 drive. All I was asking for was to receive, or even purchase this small, but necessary piece, which would turn this heavy paperweight into a useful field backup device. She asked for me to send her pictures of the drive, pictures of the packaging, the serial number (which, by the way, I couldn't find, until she smartly told me was located beneath the protective rubber case. I would not have thought it necessary to have to pull off the protective case to locate the serial number.) Then she wanted proof of purchase sent to her. I reminded her that this was a gift, and I didn't have it. I even offered to purchase the cable three different times in the conversation, if she would just give me a price. She kept saying that she must have the proof of purchase. I told her that the giver was going through something very difficult, and I didn't want to ask or bother them with this. She seemed to act as though I had stolen the drive. I don't know how it works, but I think Lacie needs to rethink their policies. I currently use 4 other Lacie external rugged hard drives, and thought that I was a customer for life. That has changed , after a wasted, one hour text conversation with Lacie. I will never purchase another Lacie product. My drive is useless at this time, unless I can find a substitute cable.Buyers beware, Lacie may not take care of you if you have a problem with a Lacie purchase.

After two years battery wouldn't charge
I had this product for 2 years, was a piece of crap from day one, even when attached to the power supply it crashes every few minutes, app doesn't work, poor support, stay away this is a complete waste of money. Basically I'm stuck with a $300 door stop, can't even get it repaired very very pissed.
