Great for hand tool use on MFT.
I love the MFT/3 and these stabilizer bars just add to its functionality. I can now hand plane on it without losing too much energy to the unwanted movement of the table. Sure, I could hand plane on it before, without the support braces but it just wasn’t as efficient. I don’t think the MFT needs these braces if you’re not using hand tools, it’s surprisingly sturdy out of the box but if you are a hand tool user, these are definitely worth it.

The MFT table is a great product by itself
The MFT table is a great product by itself, but the cross members are worth the extra money and help keep the table more stable.

Don't expect one set of these bars to stabilize the entire table.
As others have noted, these work great but not a 5 star item. I want to point out they are intended to only fasten one side. That side is rock solid, you could plane the hardest oak or maple without a quiver. HOWEVER, the other side trembles like an off balance washing machine. Do yourself a favor and order 2 sets. The stability you gain is totally worth it. You can still fold the bars and snap them on to the cross support. One rides above the bar, the other below. I am a huge Festool fan, but stuff like this should come with the table or be packaged in a set of 4.

You really need these
These really turn a kind of wobbly MFT/3 into a sturdy work surface. Well worth it...although the MFT should really come with these in the first place...

Required Purchase for any MFT
These stabilizers REALLY improve MFT operations. But $90? HHAHAAHAHAHAHAHAAHAHAHAThese should be $49 a pair and at least one pair should already come with the MFT set (none with the MFT Basic). I use two pairs on mine... it's now very, very stable. I hope it's obvious that I didn't pay full price. Watch for Amazon Warehouse sales.

Great upgrade for MFT. Should be included with the table.
These make a great product even better. Installation instructions aren't very good but there are lots of youtube videos on how to install them. Like everyone else said, they should really be included with the MFT.

Five Stars
Solid MFT, the MFT can take greater 'knocks' and remain stable.

Should have come with the table.
Festool is usually flawless…. buttttt…. It’s kind of crazy these are needed to be purchased separately…. Also 2 sets are honesty needed to stabilize the table. Even with 2 sets, if you use a RO150 on the table enough you’ll shake the cross supports unscrewed and off the table. Save yourself the money and just build a mobile cabinet/cart, take the legs off your MFT and put the table on there. It’s much less of a headache.
